I have tried several times to install the trial version of Power CD+G Player Pro on Windows XP Professional. Each time, I receive the following notification upon closing the installation:

"The procedure entry point ?LoadDibFromResource@@YA_NPAVCDib@@0HPBDPAUHINSTANCE_@@@Z could not be located in the dynamic link library PawLib.dll"

Then on clicking "ok" and loading the programme, I can load tracks from the CD or from the hard drive but the "Play" and "Stop" buttons do not work.

What's wrong?

Are you using the latest version downloaded from our website? Please try downloading and installing again.

I'm using (or trying to use) the latest version. I downloaded it three times from your web site yesterday. Reinstallation does not help. I have tried removing it too but then I get the following message:

<"C:\Program Files\Doblon\Power CDG Player Pro\unins000.dat" file is corrupted. Cannot uninstall.>

So, what now?

Do you have administration rights? They may be required to install the software. Have you installed any other our software? Also have you changed the installation folder?

I have full administration rights. I have installed the 'Power CD+G Filter' and the 'Power CDG to MPG Converter', both of these are functioning as they should. As for the installation folder, I accepted the default folder as suggested in the installation procedure. Still no joy...

Please try deleting C:\Program Files\Doblon\Power CD+G Player Pro directory by hand, and then reinstall the software. If it does not work please let me know the date and size of pawlib.dll file installed there.

I've done that already. The PawLib file is PawLib.dll 1.0.0.1. Created 28/02/2005 11:46 and is 688kb. Now what?

This is very strange, as the file date in the installation package is 12/02/2005. Also the file size is different. I have no idea what might be the reason -- maybe your system is infected by virus?

I have created a zip file from installation directory -- please overwrite the files on your computer with these in the package. You may download it from http://www.powerkaraoke.com/download/PowerCDGPlayerPro_1_0_3.zip. Please post back if this works.

My mistake. I thought it was odd. When I place the cursor over the file it gives me today's date but if I look at it in 'details' view, it does indeed say 12/02/2005 11:46. No, my desktop does not have a virus as all other packages have loaded fine and it is never nor ever has been connected to the internet. It does have anti-virus software on it even so. Everything comes in through my laptop which also has [please do not post unlock codes]date anti-virus software on it and then through via lan connection to my desktop. Thanks for the special effort. I've downloaded it and will try it in due course.

Ok. Here's the update.

I downloaded the zip file as you told me to. The file arrived in my laptop and on inspection it shows the following files:

CDGPlayerPro.chm size:155.693 packed:148.073 Type:Compiled HTML help Modified:12/02/2005
CDGPlayerPro.exe Size:538,112 Packed:526,354 Type:Application Modified:12/02/2005
CDGSource.ax Size:373,760 Packed:337,159 Type:File ax Modified:12/02/2005
CJ60Lib.dll Size:253,952 Packed:88,209 Type:Application Extension Modified:21/06/2004
PawLib.dll Size:704,512 Packed:236,935 Type:Application Extension Modified:12/02/2005
PowerSlowDown.ax Size:69,632 Packed:23,490 Type:File ax Modified:24/01/2005

These files were passed through my LAN to my desktop and there, inside the file PowerCDGPlayerPro_1_0_3.zip these files show the same attributes. However, when unpacked into the folder C:\Program Files\Doblon\Power CDG Player Pro, their attributes change to:

CDGPlayerPro.chm Size:152kb Modified:12/02/2005
CDGPlayerPro.exe Size:525kb Modified:12/02/2005
CDGSource.ax Size:365kb Modified:12/02/2005
CJ60Lib.dll Size:248kb Modified:21/06/2004
PowerSlowDown.ax Size:68kb Modified:24/01/2005
PawLib.dll Size:688kb Modified:12/02/2005

The program loads as it should but the <Play> and <Stop> buttons still don't work...

Have you tried this program under Windows XP Professional? I have no problems with any other program installation and my desktop definitely does NOT have a virus.

So. What now?

Incidentally, even though there are CDG files listed in the "File" window on the right of the program panel, at the bottom right hand corner under "Song Info" it says "No song loaded"...

Most of our customers use Windows XP. And all development is done and primary tested on Windows XP Pro machines. We have had no reports of an error similar to yours.

There must be some problem with installation package, as at this time the software started without the problem. I would suggest the following course:

1. Download and install the latest build from our website.
2. Substitute only pawlib.dll file with the one from ZIP package.
3. If this does not work, try substituting exe and ax files as well.

I suspect that the reason why the file is not loading is because some files have not been registered properly during installation, so overwriting the files should work.

I have no idea what might be wrong. As I wrote before -- we have a lot of user of Power CD+G Player Pro and none has reported a similar problem. What is your computer setup (ie. what processor is installed in your machine)?

I am running Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 20002 Service Pack 1 on an AMD Duron(tm) Processor 996 MHz with 192 MB of RAM. It's my computer and I have set it up so that I have full administrator rights.

Does that help?

I have prepared one more build for you to test -- I have emailed you the details.
