Recording songs that are not on karoake lists. Can this done

Hi,

I am new to all this. I am trying to learn to record a song I would like to sing, but it is not on any Karoake CD's. I am trying to be different for my show. I want to record this one song with out the vocal track. What type of recorder can do that? I know the song I want to sing is not on any karoake song lists. And that is what I want. So I need a device that can record the tune and leave out the vocal track.

So what do I need to get that done?

I'm not sure what do you mean by record a song. Could you please describe the task with more details.
