Hi, after the last upgrades I have gotten a problem. When I enter new singers during performances the program needs more time then before to register these. Additionally the "pause" screen image overrides the lyrics for a couple of seconds causing disturbance to the singers.
This never happened before, it just seems that adding new songs has become a more demanding task for the system. When I push "Add and continue" for example it takes a good 6-7 seconds until the system allows me to add a new one. And if I try to type a new singer before this time, the system goes non respondant.
I currently have 14.000 mp3+cdg trakcs in my dbase, but it should be able to handle that amount?
I also added som avi tracks, those files are bigger but rarely in use.
What can it be? |

I am, downloaded and installed two days ago.
It has been like this for a little while, but in the start I only got a glimpse of the start screen when entering new songs, and it did not take 6-7 seconds to save the new song added, maybe only 2-3 seconds.
So it is getting worse all the time, and now it is ridicolous... |

Please try changing the video renderer in Display section of Settings dialog box. _________________ Piotr

Hi, tried it with no effect.. It does not feel like it has anything to do with the videofiles. I have approx 15.000 karaoke cdg+mp3 tracks in the system, can that be it? How many is it supposed to handle? The process going on when it halts is saving a new singer; so to me it seems natural that it concerns this.
I have all the tracks on an external drive connected to the computer via firewire - can that be the cause?
A friend of mine says that when you acceess an external drive a lot, after a while a lot of temp files (?) might be saved and effecting the speed? There is plenty room left on the drive, so that should not be the issue,
Glad for any help you can give me

Hi, I have updated with the newest software version, the problem still appears. It is really unpractical to not be able to enter new singers during performances.
As stated before, I now have approx 14.000 mp3+cdg in my system and I use an external disc connected to my stationary PC.
Is it possible that this has anything to do with it?
When I had 10-11.000 tracks this was not an issue. Does anybody else have the same problem? Or maybe somebody can confirm that they have a similar setup and no problems?
This problem has progressed gradually. The first time it happened I only got a blink with the starter screen. Now it stays on for 3-4 seconds.
Regards,

As expected the new upgrade did not fix this. And I am quite sure no later upgrades will either unless these upgrades are made specifically to fix this.
I have now tested to see if the problem still occurred when I ran tracks stored locally on the computer I am using - and it does.
I also defragmented the external disc.
The conclusion can then only be that the problem is indeed with the Siglos software. Still I find it odd that noone else reports the same problem.
The same "slowness" also occurs when I want to move singers up and down in the playlist.
Song search and adding songs does not experience any "slowness".
Please think har dand long, I really need this fixed...
Sincerely,
Roger |

| MrLarson I have tried to duplicate your problem with my computer and I'm not encountering any of the problem that you have. It's definitely not the amount of songs on your harddrive because I have 35,000+ songs. Did you install any new programs recently? I'm thinking that if you did, it may be having an adverse reaction to your system. |

Hi and thank you for your reply
I don't think I have installed any new programs to this PC as it is only used for the karaoke.
I am thinking that now might be the right time to uninstall the software and start all over again?
I have not tried this yet, I have only tried to remove all linked songs in the library and re-link them.
Maybe if I uninstall and restart the PC and then link up the songs all over again it can work? As long as nobody else experiences the same problem it should work fine if I start all over again from scratch? I am using Vista by the way.

Hi, I tried to reinstall the system. But it doesn't really reinstall. After I removed the software and restarted my computer, I installed the .59 version.
And when I opened the program all "old" information was still there. The song library, singers with song history - and I didn't have to enter any licence code for the software either.
It "remembered" me.
So how can I remove it completely before I install it all over again? Do I neeed to reformat the c: drive on my computer? I really would like to avoid that...
Regards,
Roger |
