I have a friend that is trying to run a show using Siglos pro and they are computer illiterate so I figure I would try to help.
They are running the show with their own background pictures and the fill-in music. Well when the next singer comes up and they click on the start button it takes approximately 60 seconds to start the song. The "working" icon just keeps running over and over.
Their system runs great otherwise and is a realitively newer system about a year old. Has 2 gig of ram and a 2+ ghz processor. Any suggestions?
I've had them disable the fill-in and disconnect from the internet while running and it does not change. |

| I know this is an old post, but I thought I would reply with what I figured out. I was also having an issue with it taking a long time to start a song after clicking the Start button(20-30 seconds). I was also using pictures as a background slideshow. These were pictures that I had taken with my camera with an average file size of 4mb. When I changed my settings to use a solid background, time from clicking the Start button until song actually started playing was around 1 second. I had previously used a background slideshow without issues for a friend's birthday using pictures I had downloaded from Facebook so the file sizes were a lot smaller and I was using more pictures. I haven't done any testing, so i can't say whether it's an issue with one pictures with a large file size or the collective files sizes of all pictures. |

| Thanks for the info, it makes sense. I will see if this indeed is the cause of the problem. |

I had the same issues with my old computer when I was running a solid backgound. the only thing that seemed to help then was to not use the fill in music. That seemed to use up all the cpu. If I turned that off then everything ran faster even the search. I now have the new i7 dual quad processor with 8 gig of Memory and it doesn't effect it nearly as much.
I use to lock up 4 or 5 times a night and now have only locked up a few times in 5 shows. The amount of processor memory is an issue but I found away around it until you load it up with more to do. I like working with the K.I.S.S. programs but still do the job. To Much is not always better. A Program that is trouble free is what everyone wants. |
