I haven't gotten online for a bit to try and update but after this weekend I was very frustrated so I tried to download updates and I get a message that I need to renew my subscription for another year. Now I don't like to complain but I think I haven't gotten my money worth and have been used as a sort of guinea pig while the problems have been worked on. I hear the updates have all but solved the problem but am not so sure I want to pay any more for this trial and error thing we've been going through....Just my two cents. |
I agree with you.I have tried everything I was told to do and it still freezes. Last month the whole program crashed and I lost all my edited songs and my income for the night since it took 3 hours working with a computer programer to get it running again. The bar lost all their customers for that night. I am going back to the cd's until I find a program that actually works for a professional karaoke show. |

| 3 hours with a programmer? what was going on with the computer? i and several of my friend KJ's have relied on this for 3 years and never lost a single night. it was not SKP itself, there can be a bunch of reasons. Antivirus software, wireless cards love to screw with av programs, simple codec issues. what did the programmer have to do to get you back up and running? my guess............from previous experience on this forum.............windows runtime and .net framework corrupt files. share your results so others might see what went wrong. |

I have to agree. I love the idea of this program in general. But it screws with my computer over all. Twice in the last year I have had to have my computer completely rebuilt - or rather I thought I did. The first time I didn't think anything about it. But this time it's obviously Siglos that has caused the issues. I waited a full week to install it after this last rebuild (just because I didn't need it yet). During that time not one issue with my laptop - it was fast, no freezing -awesome. The day I loaded SKP for a gig that night - all my issues came back on my laptop - even when SKP is not turned on.
My system runs slow, programs freeze, and SKP is just a pain during a gig. I end up looking unprofessional and that is not OK. I, too, do not have the newest of the new which seems to be the one that works according to these posts. I reloaded the latest version I had (I found I still had it on a flash drive I had) and my laptop issues started all over again. I want to buy one that works and only have to buy a newer version because it has new features that I would think are cool to have - not because it actually works for a change. That's crazy!!
Right now, as far as strictly speaking about SKP, I cannot use the fill list at all. I have to double click the song on the hard drive and force it to go to Siglos (Are you sure you want to start a new session?). If I do this at least I do not freeze during a show. But it runs so slow - takes forever to start. This ends up with me having several folders open so I have the songs at least found and ready to double click (lots of Alt-Tabs going on). Keeping everyone in order is harder this way than in the old days of CDs.
But I still love not having to lug around those CDs! I have an older laptop collecting dust. I'm going to load SKP on it and have it dedicated and remove it from this laptop. That should solve me issues on my regular laptop. But I will still have to double click to start a song. |

I have Siglos Karaoke Player/Recorder 1.2.102 that is running on Win 7. I have over 10,000 song that run on a terabyte usb drive. However This program stop in the middle of playing a song.
I have multiple folder that include cdg, mp3 and ZIP files.
Is there anything I can do to stop my program from closing during a show?
Maybe placing all files in one folder or unzipping every ZIP file?
Frustrated
