Is there any way (format) that you can open the Data Base and view it and/or copy and Print just one singers history out of the data base? Once I have a history on a few singers that come in every week and I have to reload the cd data base I lose all history on the singers. I would like to be able to go back and at least type in the history of the ones that come in on regularly. I have some singers with near a hundred songs and I would want to write it all out by hand and then type it in. would be nice if there was some way to print this out.

agreed. as of not it only prints out the last song sung by every singer in the history. being able to export and print just one singers songs would be great.
i know some of mine would love to get a hard copy of their history to look at so they don't pick the same songs over and over.
on that same subject, and with Dana's problems, how about the option to add songs to someones history without having to play each one. kinda like we used to back with the index cards, just write them in.

Paradigm I have found that I can to that by removing my external hard drive where the songs are stored and then add the songs for the singer and hit play and it will add it to the data base with out playing song because song isn't there. It works when I am typing the data base in after up dating data base.

I am trying to get an answer to your first post here.

I have moved songs around on the hard drive and am now hesitant about rebuilding the database. When I do, I will lose singer's history.

I would like to be able to print out the singer's history and use that to re-add all songs for them prior to my next event.

The last time I redid the database I lost all singer history and had to work furiously to get them added during the show. I don't want to go through that again.

Also, would there be a way to have the program delete songs with 0:00 time? When a song is moved or deleted, it shows up with 0:00 time in the playlist. Getting the program to automatically delete these from the database would be a great help.

the data base is nothing more than giving the location of the song it is the road map for the program to follow to go get and play the song. If you move or delete a songs location the the road map is no longer any good for that song. You may print out each singers history with the latest versions, it takes a little work to straighten it out but it is worth it, and you can do what you were wanting to do, retype in that singers history. Hope this helps you.

Where do you print the singer's history from? The "Add Singer" screen? I have a show tonight and will look around for it.

I did go to database management and validate songs. That should have gotten rid of all the invalid songs for me.

I am thinking that when the program got rid of the invalid songs, it removes them from the singer's history too, so I may be too late for some of them.

I know that I should play around with the program more to become more proficient. I'm just have everything working good and hate to mess up a good thing.

under the add singer button when it opens right next to the history list is export history button. This is for the Karaoke Pro program.

Thanks, I found it last night.

I was looking for some sort of print option, but found export. I exported it last night and will work with it.

I am trying to sort out all my songs on the laptop HD. I was using an Xbox before and had all the songs sorted on it. The problem with the Xbox is that it would truncate all songs to 64 characters. That means a lot of titles are shortened. When I try combining the two to make sure I have all my songs on the laptop HD, I get duplicates. I am trying to get rid of these duplicates so only one song will show up in the add singer's box.

Since this program has the power to do it, I thought about adding a prefix to the songs. CB for Chart Buster, SGB for Sweet Georgia Brown, and so on. That way if a singer wants a particular version, it is easier to select that one.

Glad to help and not a bid Idea with the prefix but once the history is in the same song comes up all the time once you find one they like I always just copy the Data base and then change it back to the one that has my singers history in it. Once in a while I may come up with a song that is no longer there but I just go ahead and add it back to the singers history. That works for me.

I may leave them as they are. Most people don't care what version the song is. The ones that do, I usually copy that song into my main folder and only use that version. I have all songs sorted by company, but only scan the A-Z folders I have created. The A-Z folders have a mixture of all companies. That way I will only get one version of the song when I search for it and I know it is the one I want.

when i ripped, i did something like that
DKG1-01 - Madonna (DK) - Like A Virgin - A-1
manu number
track number
artist (manu abbreviation)
title (duet in parentheses if appropriate)
Location of physical disk

i use 240 disc binders labled A - E, then in each binder the number is disc space. i put hub lables on the discs as i get them with the location on it (ie. c-128) so the can be found in seconds.
aftyer ripping, i sort them by artist just like my DJ music, this way i look under Madonna and if i already have an SC version of Like a Virgin, i just wont add it to the folder.

It pays to be organized. I have all my songs, karaoke and DJ sorted by the artist's first name. That way if I type in George Strait, that is what I get. Don't have to worry about Strait, George.

I have found a great renaming program. It will bulk rename all my files. I would be lost without it.

All my songs I get from my online subscription are Last, First - Song. I can unzip them into their own folder and quickly use this program to swap Last, First to First Last.

It took me a while to master it, but now I can quickly rename anything. The only problem I have is with Last, First & Someone Else - Song. It puts First & Someone Else Last - Song. I still haven't figured that out. Don't need to use it too much anymore as almost all my songs are renamed.

Free program.
