Help! I have an Inspiron 1525 laptop(Dell), with Windows Vista operating system, I successfully downloaded the software, but find it EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING to use. I admit I'm not the most computer savvy person, but I'm really struggling with the software. Here are some questions I have, namely; should you be able to hear your voice through headphones plugged into the laptop BEFORE YOU START RECORDING? Should your voice come through both channels when your adjusting the levels in settings? Could somebody out there walk me through a simple step by step method to record using this software EXPLICITLY DESCRIBING EACH STEP ,and the purpose/use of each of the controls. Regards, Phil. |

I saw there may be problems with Vista, that I have. Is this fixed with Windows 7?
Also, how do you output the music to an large external speaker system? (not just small computer speakers, rather a strong club speaker?
Right now, I have some small PC speakers attached and the music comes from them, but my vocal doesn't. I can't find a microphone on the Windows Mixer.
I am still having problems running MPEG 4. I downloaded the codecs, do they have to be tied together somehow in Siglos? All I did was download. How do you actually make it work? |

In order to send the sound through large speakers, you need to connect your computer to the external amplifier.
Regarding MP4 files, are you able to play the files using Windows Media Player? _________________ Adam

No, I wasn't able to play in Windows Media Player either. I assume it is because it is Zipped. If I unzipped the files first (with WinZip), I could play the audio, but I don't get the lyrics -- but I assume Media player isn't built for playing CDG).
Regarding an external amplifier, can you give some examples of brands and models so I know what you are referring to. Would I need a mixer (I think that is what it is called, the machine that most live performers use to input multiple microphones, instruments, etc and then add reverb etc to singers voice). Then, it outputs to normal large speakers.
The most powerful PC speakers I've found are a set with two 75 watt speakers with a 150 Watt bass. Are you aware of a larger set up? I'd like speakers that would handle a room with up to 250 people. How many watts do I likely need for that. (I realize it may depend.... )
Thanks
Please forgive all the questions, but I just got this for Christmas and trying to make my way through it. |

In the previous post you wrote about problems with MPEG4. What is the format are you having problems with?
Regarding the sound setup to amplify large rooms, I'm afraid I'm no expert in this matter, and thus I can't help you there. We are a software company only, and have no sound systems in our offer. _________________ Adam
