What seems to be the easiest way to catalog music? Do people just put everything into a single directory, do you make directories named after the artist or what?

I've got about a 200 disc collection right now and I'm just not sure what's the best way to index everything for ease of use. Any suggestions would be great!

Regards,
Bruce

Did you try using Siglos Karaoke Professional and its database?

No I haven't yet, this is really only for personal in home entertainment... Do you recommend just leaving all the files in the same directory and letting the database do all the sorting?

When the Siglos database is used, the location of the files does not matter. In standard version of Siglos, you may add all the files you have to the playlist, and search the playlist using F3 key.

Adam, I have sent this a couple of times not sure if you are getting this, this forum is hard to get around in, I am using siglos professional and all my songs are going into the file column, I am using cd+g pro copier and rip songs from cd's to my hard drive and still nothing in the artist or title column, all in the file column, you mentioned something about parsing, not sure how to do this properly, can you help?

You need to adjust the 'Name parsing rule' in the Import songs dialog box to the format of the filenames you are importing.

For example, for the filename:

The Beatles_-_Help.cdg

The name parsing rule should be:

Artist _-_ Title
