I trialed the Power CD+G Burner, loved the app. My father has been doing Karaoke for many years so I queried him to see if he had a CD+G burning app. Over Christmas, he told me that he had a CD of a bunch of Karaoke applications that he collected over the years. He only rips CD+G's and never writes to them so he wasn't familiar with Power CDG Burner.

On that CD he gave me, I found an older version of Power CDG Burner along with a code. I tried it, it gave some error after a minute, so I just uninstalled it, and then went to your site, paid my $40 and then re-installed from your site. I got my legal unlock code from you, so I was ready to go.

Except...

Now when I try to run Power CDG Burner, nothing happens. The first little window that says "scanning devices" does not even appear. I cant even enter my unlock code because the application never opens. Regmon and Filemon show the application doing something briefly and then it shuts itself down.

I tried downloading several other PowerKaraoke demo applications and NONE of them will start either.

Yes, I've rebooted.
Yes, I cleared the DOBLON registry key in HKCU

My 8 yr old son is begging me to make some CD+G discs, please let me know what to try. My hunch says its related to me trying the old version of Power CDG Burner, but why wouldn't that be erased/fixed when I install the new one? And why would other PowerKaraoke apps be disabled as well?

I just tried uninstalling your latest version and I reinstalled an old (assumed) pirated version (v 1.7.2) and that one still starts. It gives some "Error 1601" after about a minute. But it DOES start and run. If I move quick, I can even get it to start burning a disc.

But the error makes that version unusable. I need to get your latest version installed and the unlock code that I bought entered.

Trust me, I'm kicking myself for ever having tried that pirated install.

You may try downloading and running this file:

It will revert Power CD+G Burner to default settings.

The installation program creates the "HKCU\Software\Doblon\Power CD+G Burner\Settings" key with a "CDRDAO" key inside it with value "C:\Program Files\Common Files\cdrdao".

When I try to run Power CDG Burner, no new keys are written to that path, so its failing before that stage of the application.
