|
|
| I have used CDRWIN to rip tracks from a cdg disc to .bin files. When I try to play these in Power cd+g player, the lyrics appear fuzzy. If I go to full screen mode I get a narrow band of indecipherable fuzz across the screen (rather like if you get the refresh rate wrong on the display adapter). If I re-size the window, the audio breaks up. Please - what have I done wrong - have I got some settings wrong? |

You need to make sure that you enable CD+G when ripping tracks (enable checkbox 'CD+G' under 'Reading Options' in CDRWin). If you have done this and are still experiencing errors, try ripping tracks with lower speed -- high speed may give errors.
If this still does not work, you may post your question at this forum: http://www.karaokeplayground.co.uk/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum;f=9 -- there are a lot of people that have huge experience with CD+G. _________________ Piotr

And some of us from the Playground keep and eye on things here too.
As above. Slower read speed will usually provide better results. Failing that, what you are describing is typical of a burner or read device that does not fully support CD+G with CDRwin. Use AudioGrabber to rip your tracks. Make sure you install 1.82 Build 2 for ripping CD+G, and update your ASPI for everything to work properly.
The PowerKaraoke player will only play what is there. I believe the fault lies in CDRwin's ripping technique with your burner.
OMG! I'm a Newbie!!! |

Thanks for your help. I have tried everything you suggested about CDR WIN and I still get the same problem.
I have also tried Audiograbber at a slow speed, and still the problem persists. I have also tried ripping to cdg + mp3 and played it in WinAmp (with the plugin) and the result is exactly the same though not quite as severe (I can read the lyrics but they are broken up a bit - as if little bits are missing).
So it would appear that the problem is in the ripping. What is the ASPI and how do I update it? Or do you think it is my CD drive that is the problem - it is a Mitsumi CR-48XCTE 1.08? |
