Hi, I have purchased your software and love most of it so far. I can easily rip my Karaoke CDs and have created backup files on my computer in CD+G and MP3 formats. Here's the problem: When I try and burn a new CD+G cd it comes up with an error. I have tried burning cd+g and bin files. I have tried changing my settings and tried internal burning engine and many configurations of the cdrdao burning engine. This is what it does: It begins, starts wring an image file.... then error. It makes the CD useless then and I have thrown almost 20 away.... HElp!!!! thanks. |

I am afraid we had several reports of problems with HP drives -- it looks like it does not follow the specification to the letter and our software does not work properly with it. We will be updating the software at the end of this week and hope to hve this problem addressed -- please visit our site on Thursday or Friday. I am sorry that it does not work out of the box, but as I wrote before -- it is a hardware problem. _________________ Piotr

Version 1.3.1 is done -- you may download it from download page. Make sure to switch to 'Internal' burning mode before you try burning. And please post back if it works properly. _________________ Piotr

Well the new program seems to be more stable on my HP system. I have been able to rip 5 cd's to MP3 and CDG files tonight. I only had to reboot once due to the program freezing up.
Again.. the freeze seems to happen when I insert a new disk and hit refresh. I found if I eject the disk from your program it will clear the tracks... then when I insert a new disk and hit refresh it will gather the info from Freedb and keep running.
Status of burning a new Karaoke CDG:
This process seemed to work somewhat. After writing the lead in I got an error called "CT HElper" after I cleared the error it went on to burn the disk.
I was attempting to burn a CD+G disk from multiple CDG/mp3 files.
I had the internal engine on as you suggested.
My results were garbled words but the music appeared fine.
I verified my CDG MP3 files were not garbled using your player... so I know the became garbled during the burning stage.
Any other ideas? _________________ Surround yourself with the positive people... downers are such a drag! |

I spoke to soon.
I changed the disk hit refresh and froze up. Just a note about the freezing.... it freezes everything. All I can get to work is the mouse. It moves but cannaot access anything. All other running programs seem to be affected. I also cannot hit control/alt/delete to close the program it will not work. The start menu will not work.
I have to unplug my computer to reboot. _________________ Surround yourself with the positive people... downers are such a drag! |

I am not sure what might be the cause of the freezing -- are you able to use other burning programs without problems?
Regarding garbled words -- please try lowering burn speed and/or changing the type of CD-Rs you use. Also make sure that 'Don't correct errors' option is cleared. _________________ Piotr

Hi, I am emailing my cdgblog.txt file for your review.
I have tried your suggestions.
I have burned at 1x speed.. and tried Memorex cd-r disks as well as Verbatim cd-r disks.
I have also tried to use the internal burning engines as well as the cdrdao engines.
I get an error when i try the cdrdao engine.
I have also went into my msconfig and disabled most drivers not pertaining to this such as cthelper, virus, blue tooth, ms update etc to try to determine if a driver was conflicting. I have also upgraded my aspi, dvix and other drivers.
I have the most up to date driver for my dvd/rw as well as all recent windows recommended updates.
As I mentioned earlier my main issues are:
1) garbled words
2) freezing up when i rip CDG and MP3 files... especially when i hit refresh.
When it freezes it locked up the whole system and I am unable to control/alt/delete out of anything....it appears as though the temp file is corrupt or stuck... or the program is conflicting with another driver such as the cdr driver or soundblaster.
Are you aware of any conflicts with certain drivers or units?
Thanks... urrrrrggggg!

I have checked the file and:
1. Your drive should record CD+Gs properly. Are you burning files ripped with our program? Please try to play these files on the computer with a software player (demo version of Power CD+G Player Pro will allow you to do this) and make sure thay play properly.
2. Regarding freezing -- have you tried disabling FreeDB? Did it help? _________________ Piotr

Hi I have been away for a while so I haven't been able to get on.
Here's a funny thing...
I burned a DVD back up of my mp3 and cdg files and placed them on my second computer which is also an HP. It is a pavilion a305w.
I was then able to burn a new karoke CD using both writable drives I have. The ASUS CRW 4824 AH 0.86 burned successfully at 1x speed and the Plexor DVD PX-716A 1.03 successfully at 4x speed.
They both played well in my JVC Karaoke player.
I still have been unable to fugure out my main computer. As for the player, I bought your Cd+G Player Pro.. all backed up MP3 and CDG appear to be fine. I will attempt to disable FReeDB to see if the freezing stops. However I still get a an error trying to burn. Could it be a conflict with my audio card or any buner software I have.. ? Anything else I should be looking for need to update on my system? How can I find out what the error code is? Any conflicting drivers you are aware of?I sent you the file. Thanks again.. _________________ Surround yourself with the positive people... downers are such a drag! |

Update
Well i wasted another 7 cdr's today. I managed to burn 2 disks that contained garbled words using the internal burning engine at 1x speed. I tried the fist disk off line and the second on line with FreeDB running. This made no diference.Prior to this the same songs worked fine in Player Pro and burned fine on my other HP.
I then switched to use CDRDAO mode and attempted 5 different combinations of raw driver, sub channel, don't interleave, don't error, aspi, etc. I burned each attempt at the lowest speed possible.
Results: All the same
Read fine, write lead in fine, starts to write the disk... get's about 3-5 % and causes and unknown error. Each time it diables the disk from being written on again.
Could it be that this HP has aLightscribe DVD+-RW drive? Or another Driver conflict?
I'm about to throw the towel in... _________________ Surround yourself with the positive people... downers are such a drag! |

I am sorry, but I can not give you any better solution. Maybe the drive is not following the specifications precisely, or some software or drivers interfer with Power CD+G Burner. _________________ Piotr
