|
|
| Two years ago I asked Adam about an Equalizer. A lot of tracks have different volumes and I have to quickly adjust the volume on the amp to stop people's ears being blasted etc! Adam said he would add it to the new feature possibility list. I see that someone else has requested this more recently also. Is there any progress on this please? |

| A equalizer will not do anything for song volume. The equalizer is to adjust the bass and treble levels, so this would not help your situation Linda |

Thanks for your reply Hornet59. Sorry what I meant was a "normalizer" not an equalizer.
Do you know of any way to over ride the volume spikes when playing tracks please - especially on automatic? |

| Hey Hornet do you have to break down the zip files into mp3+g and then just use the mp3 to normalize or can you do it to all files and that are zip and it will just effect the mp3 vol? I have to many files if I have to break them all down. |

| Dana, you'll have to break all the zipped files to mp3+g. The program cannot see inside of zipped files. I unzipped all of mine (all 35,000+ songs) then I rezipped them. It was a pain in the butt, but I think it was well worth the effort. Now I don't have to constantly adjust the volume. |

| works great, i used it on everything when i used MP3's. now just waiting for FLAC support so i can get it back. you do need to unzip, but it is absolutely worth it. i wouldn't even bother rezipping. i never used zip files myself. |

Dana, MP3Gain does work nicely, but to avoid having to unzip everything you might just target the major culprits. Most manufacturers were fairly consistent in what volume they used. For example, I only normalized my Pioneer tracks (to increase the volume) and my Sweet Georgia Brown and Radio Starz tracks (to decrease the volume). That doesn't cure everything, but does get at about 95% of the more troubling tracks. No more blowing out the walls when someone sings a Radio Starz track right after someone else sang a Pioneer :>
Of course that being of any help to you depends entirely on how you've named and organized your files, and whether or not you can easily get at them by manufacturer.
