|
|
I have been using the Karaoke Pro player for about three weeks. I am still trying to learn the ins and outs.
One major problem I have with the program is automatically going into mute. I did something and the program went into mute. Sorry, I forget what I did at the time. It was the beginning of the show and I was trying to play the first song. I may have been switching songs for the singer. I couldn't get sound out. Rebooted the program, then the computer and finally realized that the program muted itself. This is the second time it has done this.
I selected the wrong song for a singer. I clicked the right song name, but didn't look at the artist. Quickly trying to get the right song going, and not realizing my mistake at the time, I found the right song in Windows Explorer and double clicked it to play. It asked me if I wanted to start a new session. I said "no". All of my singers that I had put in were now gone. I had to quickly add them. I got error messages with each song I selected. "This singer has this song, do you want to add it again?" Yes I wan to add it because it doesn't show up on the main screen.
I enabled the old drag and drop option. I tried dragging and dropping a song onto the song section of the screen, but it wouldn't do it. Is this even possible with this program? I have all my music as unzipped MP3+G files. Not all of them have the info in the file, so they may not show up in the program's database of music. I use the add file option now, but drag and drop would be so much faster.
I tried tonight to select all the options on the singer page. Automatically proceed, Next starts song, scrolling, etc. The program wouldn't load the next song in Q. I had to click next or start to get the next song to play. There are times I would like to add all my singers, but grey them out. Load two songs for me to start the night and do them back to back. Then call up the first singer and un-grey all singers to start the regular rotation. But, I am 30' from my laptop up on a stage.
I really like the program and am trying to get all the kinks out. I am looking at another program. One of the options in it allows a delay for a singer. That would be great for the host. You add an adjustable delay and you select how much time it will take you to get from your station up on stage. For me it would be 15-20 seconds. You could add that like a key change option. It wouldn't be used very often, but it would be very nice to have.
The last thing to complain about tonight is the singer's next up time. Towards the end of the night, I may need to delete singers that have left, move one or two up in the rotation, etc. This throws the next up time completely off. I have looked at the next up times and used it to calculate the last singer ending at midnight. Then I look at my clock and see I'm 20-30 minutes off. I have told people they don't have time to sing and then I am scrambling to make sure I have singers to the end of the night.
I have read many posts here. One thing I would like to see in the forums is a split with the different programs getting their own section in the forum. I would like to read as many posts as I can about the Karaoke Pro Player. I end up loading a lot of posts about other software I don't use. I am a moderator at another forum site (non-karaoke) and there are many sub sections for each specific section. Here there could be a Player, Ripper, Song Book, etc section to help people quickly find what they want to read.
Thank you in advance to all those that will help me. |

Surely someone has an answer to the problems I have.
I know this isn't a 24/7 help desk, but there are many people viewing my post and not one response? |

I have no idea what might be causing the problem. There is no 'mute' option in the program. Maybe you muted entire Windows?

This is unfortunate and is a bug, we will fix it.

Drag and drop works in Playlist mode only. If you use it while rotation is active, it will add songs to the playlist, but they will not show in rotation. We have plans to modify this.

Does this happen with every song, or just with this one?

'Next' time should be calculated accurately with the exception that it does not take silence removed from start and end of the song. But I understand that differences are larger? |

While the program didn't actually mute, the volume bar in the program was all the way to the left, turning off the volume.

I have had times where I had multiple singers greyed out and 5-6 singers with 11:38 as their next time. When I go in and remove the greyed singers and singers with no songs, the times go back to normal. I like leaving some of the singers in there so that I can quickly add a song if I need to. I grey myself out, but leave me in there if I want to sing a song or do the last one of the night.
If I remove a singer with no song and then they want to sing again, it puts them in a different position in the rotation. Most times I want to keep them in their spot. I read about creating the dummy .cdg file to say they have no song selected. I would rather keep their name off the screen as coming up next until they decide to put a song in. I stay very busy all night and at times may not be able to work them in.
This software has greatly decreased my times between singers and has made things much easier for me. There are times that it has caused a lot of problems. I was adding 5-6 singers into the rotation. I had 4-5 singers in line until it would get to the newest one. After adding all singers, it popped up on screen that the last singer I added, "Sam", was the next singer. That caused a lot of problems. I understand the program wants to get newer singers up to sing, but I should be allowed to add them into a spot in the rotation that "I" want and not what the "program" wants. |

Has the volume problem reoccurred?
And regarding 'Next' time -- we will see what is the problem with grayed out singers. New build is due tomorrow, hope to have the fix included. |

| The audio has been at 0 twice. I can't remember the specifics of each time. The last time it did it, I didn't think of looking at the volume bar. I restarted the program, then the laptop, and checked all my settings on the mixer. Finally it dawned on me to look at the volume in the program. It was turned all the way down. I spent about 10 minutes of show time trying to figure this out. |

I was on version 1.2.100. I installed 1.2.102 just a few minutes ago and am redoing my database.
When I have updates to my database, do I need to delete all songs then re-scan? Or can I add songs from previous locations and it will skip all songs currently in the database? Currently I am deleting and then adding again. I am constantly adding new songs.
What is the easiest way to skip a singer that has left? In order not to mess things up I am clicking play then next to get to the next singer. I have had many problems, and don't want to mess up my rotation.
I have a couple of pictures from last night's show. I don't have them on the Internet though. After adding singers, I have four with 11:08 as their next time. Later I had five with 11:52 as their start time. Maybe the program is just slow in updating.
OK. I updated to 1.2.102 and have a new problem.
I don't know if others are experiencing this. I use a laptop with an external USB powered hard drive. I had a show tonight and immediately heard a hissing sound. I started the show and the graphics froze on the first song. The graphics started before the music. When the music caught up, all was well. In between songs, I would get a POP through the speakers after the song and when starting the next song. I changed out cables, etc. but nothing fixed. it. Then I played two songs with no pause and there wasn't a pop between songs. I started my audio player and had a song looping with the audio turned all the way down. After that, there wasn't a POP on the speakers in between songs with the karaoke player.
So, I surmised that the karaoke player isn't keeping the external hard drive connected somehow. This is a bug since version 1.2.100, because it never happened before. No hissing or popping. Please try to fix this as soon as possible. I have shows every Thursday night and don't want to have to play music with my audio program to keep this from popping the speakers in between songs. |
