Well, it tried a little harder and even gave me more information in failing to load exactly the same file (PawLib.dll).
First it told me it could not find the Entry Point. Exactly the same message as previously. I clicked on <OK> and was then given a specific 'ERROR' message:
"C:\Program Files\Doblon\Power CDG Player Pro\CDGSource.ax
Unable to register the DLL/OCX: LoadLibrary failed; code 127.
The specified procedure could not be found.
Click Retry to try again, Ignore to procedd anyway (not recommended), or Abort to cancel installation"
and then 3 buttons: <Abort> <Retry> <Ignore>
Retry takes me in a loop
Ignore runs the rest of the programme
The result is the same: <Play> and <Stop> buttons do not work.
One nice thing though is that the <Uninstall> works perfectly this time!
Does that help? |
Ok. Here's the update.
I downloaded the zip file as you told me to. The file arrived in my laptop and on inspection it shows the following files:
CDGPlayerPro.chm size:155.693 packed:148.073 Type:Compiled HTML help Modified:12/02/2005
CDGPlayerPro.exe Size:538,112 Packed:526,354 Type:Application Modified:12/02/2005
CDGSource.ax Size:373,760 Packed:337,159 Type:File ax Modified:12/02/2005
CJ60Lib.dll Size:253,952 Packed:88,209 Type:Application Extension Modified:21/06/2004
PawLib.dll Size:704,512 Packed:236,935 Type:Application Extension Modified:12/02/2005
PowerSlowDown.ax Size:69,632 Packed:23,490 Type:File ax Modified:24/01/2005
These files were passed through my LAN to my desktop and there, inside the file PowerCDGPlayerPro_1_0_3.zip these files show the same attributes. However, when unpacked into the folder C:\Program Files\Doblon\Power CDG Player Pro, their attributes change to:
CDGPlayerPro.chm Size:152kb Modified:12/02/2005
CDGPlayerPro.exe Size:525kb Modified:12/02/2005
CDGSource.ax Size:365kb Modified:12/02/2005
CJ60Lib.dll Size:248kb Modified:21/06/2004
PowerSlowDown.ax Size:68kb Modified:24/01/2005
PawLib.dll Size:688kb Modified:12/02/2005
The program loads as it should but the <Play> and <Stop> buttons still don't work...
Have you tried this program under Windows XP Professional? I have no problems with any other program installation and my desktop definitely does NOT have a virus.
So. What now?
Incidentally, even though there are CDG files listed in the "File" window on the right of the program panel, at the bottom right hand corner under "Song Info" it says "No song loaded"...
|

Are you able to load a CD or a file? Play and Stop buttons are active only after you load a file. _________________ Piotr

Then I have no explanation -- we do all the development on XP Pro, also majority of our users use it, and we had no issues like this. _________________ Piotr

It may take years to figure out the problem...
Or only a couple hours to format your drive and reinstall windows.
