| I'm going to try this dvd burner sometime this week to see if I can get PowerKaraoke CD+G Burner to work with it. I purchased a Pioneer DVR-111D a while ago and took it back because I couldn't get it to work in my main pc. Come to find out, I probably should have use an 80 wire ide cable. |

I finally got around to trying out an old CDG with my new burner. I get garbage when using power cdg player pro with my new burner. I assume it must be my Sony dvd burner because I ripped the cdg with my Pioneer that stopped working a while ago. I played a track that I did with the old Pioneer and no garbage. Maybe I should have bought another Pioneer.
Any one have a Sony DVDRW DW-Q120A?
I tried both the spti and apsi settings for the transport layer and still the same results. I'm using version 1.0.14 of player pro. |

Please try using Power CD+G Burner to rip track to the hard disc and see if it plays OK.
Do you get blank screen or random characters? _________________ Piotr

| I was able to rip the track using my Pioneer A05. The track plays ok using the player pro when ripped with the Pioneer. My Pioneer has kinda stopped working though. I'll try the Sony and rip the track to the hard drive. I guess I kinda figured that it must be my Sony since the Pioneer ripped the same track without any garbage. I'll try the Sony in a few mins. |

^!#%!
How did you know that ripping and trying from the hard drive would work?
I assume that if I couldn't play it from the CDG without garbage that once I ripped it the same garbage would happen from the hard drive.
You are a genius!
Who cares if I can't play it from the CDG?
I plan on playing the files from the hard drive anyway.
I put the original up for safe keeping anyway!
Thx for your help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Question?
What causes the garbage in this case?
I figured it can't be the media since it doesn't happen with the Pioneer.
Is it just that the Sony is sensitive to the type of media or brand of CDG? |

It is probably that the lens is of lower quality in Sony than in Pioneer. Burner uses more advanced error correction then Player -- you may try disabling 'Use faster CD reading method' in Player's settings, it may help. _________________ Piotr

The fast setting was already disabled so the garbage won't go away with the Sony when using the player. You've been very helpful and I learned something new. The next dvd burner I get will be a Pioneer.
I'm having another karaoke party next month and can't wait to blow my friends minds. I'm inviting different people over this time. Keep up the good work with the software! |
