Hi,

I have an LG HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4167B DVD-RW drive. In order to burn CD+G and MP3 files for playability on a Karaoke player, would I need to have a CD+G enabled optical drive like the Plextor ones?

Or can I achieve this using my existing drive and one of the PowerKaraoke software?

Some LG drives are causing problems -- please download trial version of Power CD+G Burner and see if yours works properly.

I've noticed that Power CD+G Burner doesn't like writing to "re-writable DVDs"...

I assume it only writes to CDs? Does it write to re-writable CDs?

Power CD+G Burner does not work with DVDs, as they are not compatible with CD+G standard. It works with rewritable CD-RWs, but most karaoke players do not support it.

i have use this software to make the cdg to avi but cannot figure out how to get them on a dvd. i have a dvd karaoke player, i have used programs like nero, but when i put them into the player. they dont work. is there something i need to do to get the avi files recorded on a dvd-r and have them play in the player?

You need a DVD authoring program to create a proper DVD. If you player suports DivX you may record AVIs to the disc. Also if you do not have a DVD authoring software you may create a VideoCD with Nero as shown here: http://www.powerkaraoke.com/help/cdg_video_convert/source/recording_videocd.htm
