When using either cdg to mpg or cdg to avi, in the finished item whether being an mpeg or avi the music seems to have a sort of popping noise that goes along with it almost like its not been encoded properly. Have tried the different codecs on there but does not seem to make any difference.

Anyone have any ideas. (i'm running XP )

Thanks

Does it happen in every CDG file you are converting? And are you sure that the noise is not there when you play CDG or BIN file in Power CD+G Player?

What OS are you using? Have you tried installing latest DirectX (http://www.microsoft.com/download)?

i also have this problem with pops and other noises after converting mp3+cdg to avi. have tried all available bit rates but the result is always the same. original mp3 file plays back perfectly in any mp3 player, but is subject to "noise" after conversion.

Here's something related to your problems:

I get these annoying popping sounds on playing any cdg/mp3 karaoke song on my computer (win xp home/media player 10). Same thing doesn't happen when I select the mp3 file without the cdg for playback only or if I use different cdg-players.

Any clue as to what to do?

Cheers
Z.

zondarg, which software are you referring to? Power CD+G Filter?

Yes, that's the software I'm using. No popping sounds whatsoever when playing the same mp3s with the same player (just without the cdg-extensions).

We are currently investigating the problem -- does it happen for all files? Can you possibly send me the MP3 file that is causing the problems?

Since you have been investigating the problem for some time now:

Did you find out anything? Has this bug been reproducable? Was the file I sent you of any help?

I am sorry, but I have been unable to reproduce the problem -- I have tried it on different machines and it plays perfectly. I have had couple of similar report, but I cannot find any common point to them. The only solution would be to completely re-write the file playback routine, which is not possible at the moment.

I am sorry we have been unable to fix this problem. If you would like to help us please send me and email -- I would prepare a version that would give me some more information and maybe this way we could pinpoint the problem. Me email is below.
