I searched and found a few entries that dealt with the cd+g portion of the disc taking up the space used to create and store CD-TEXT.
And, while I'm certainly no expert.... I offer this observation: I use a nicely packaged little program called "Easy CD Extractor" to rip CD's and convert sound files. The CD ripper also searches the freedb archive for the CD information, and like my karaoke video converter, rarely finds karaoke disc information.
However, when I ask it to read the CD-TEXT instead, it finds the information needed for song titles, artist, etc.
I wonder if there is a setting or portion of code that can be written to give cd+g to video converter the same capabilites?
The site for the program is www.poikosoft.com. |

I'm not sure, if I understand correctly. Do you want Power CDG to Video Converter to read CD-TEXT? And/or, are you saying that Easy CD Extractor can read CD-TEXT data from CDG discs? _________________ Adam

What I am finding, is that when I put certain discs into my CD+G to video converter, there is no freedb database information found. When I put that same disc into poikosoft's Easy CD Creator....there is track information found.
Both programs are set to the same freedb database site, I give both programs the same amount of time to recognize and read the discs, and then download the database inforamation from the web.
The only difference I can tell, is that EZCD also reads CDTEXT.
For example, the Chartbusters Karaoke Essentaial Collections 4 & 5 do not have freedb information available when inserted into CDG to Video convertor. But the same discs have song information readily accesible when inserted into EZCD.
I dunno? If its not the CDTEXT that EZCD is reading, can you maybe offer another suggestion of what I might try? |
