Hello Admin,
I installed Siglos Karaoke Player on my home PC to practice songs at home in my bedroom. The lyrics fall way behind making it impossible to follow the song. I decided to check the performance tab in task manager and discovered that Siglos is maxing out my CPU! It's running at 97% to 100%. The computer is running a Celeron processor at 1.8Mhz with 768 MB of ram. I thought that should be plenty to run the program OK. By the way, that is playing a mp3+cdg file straight from the hard drive. I've been using Siglos on my laptop for quite some time now to run my karaoke show and it works fine there (Pentium 4 2.8Mhz w/ 1.0 GB ram). Any suggestions?

Are you using the latest version? We have been testing Siglos on 800 MHz Pentium 3 and it worked fine.
Have you tried using different video renderer in Settings? _________________ Piotr

Hi Admin,
Thank you for your prompt response. I'm using the latest version 1.2.14 and changing the video rendering to standard gives a slightly better result. The computer plays the mp3+G files from the hard drive with only a little stuttering and almost no lag in the lyrics with the processor running at about 95%, but when I play from a CDG disc it still stutters and maxes out the processor. The video card is a VIA/S3G UniChrome Pro IGP with 64 megs of video ram. I wonder if there is anything that I can tweak in the video settings to help the situation?
Thanx in advance,

You may try lowering the number of frames per second.
Also please:
1. Run the program
2. Click in the program main window
3. Press Ctrl+Shift+L
4. Message "Log enabled" should appear
5. Load a file (CDG preferably) and play it
6. Exit the program
7. Go to My Documents (or Documents on Vista) -- you will find "sigloslog.txt" file there. Please email it to me. _________________ Piotr

Hey Admin,
Success! I lowered the frame rate to 20 frames, turned off ALL video acceleration in the video properties AND upgraded the firmware on my Plextor PX712A. The last one was the magic bullet since with all the other adjustments there was still a little audio stutter when the cd player was reading the disc. After the firmware upgrade (1.04 to 1.09) stutter was gone and CPU load is down to around 80%. Whew! Hope this helps anyone out there with a similar problem.
Cheers,
ltprod
P.S. If the is any other relevant information in the log file I sent, please let me know. |

Hi Adam,
I just downloaded Siglos Pro (Demo) and I'm also having "lagging lyrics" problems. I do not believe it's the exact same problem, as my system is running fine and is not overloaded.
However, I tried reducing number of frames to 20 and changed to standard video rendering, neither of which helped.
The lyrics are out of sync with the music by about two words for each medium-tempo song.
I am in the process of emailing you the log.
Thank You,
John |

| I installed the demo on the computer I would be mainly using it with, and the lyrics are fine. But it's just kind of funny because this computer is my souped-up computer (with big graphics card included)...the other one is just a bare bones system. |

Ok.. I'm having the same problem after reinstalling my windows xp... everything worked fine before. I've tried to lower the display quality to a lower one (20) it already displays a number of "1280 frames per second" and it won't let me change anything. When I try to change the frames per second I get a pop up that tells me "Please enter an integar between 2 and 8". Where do I put that, so I tried it in Midi lines per screen, enter a number and it don't matter because it goes back to "Please ente a number between 1 and 10000. I've never have gotten this before. Updated to current version of Siglos, directx 10, and what ever else I could think of for an upgrade.. So what do I need to do next??? I'm also a registered owner.
thank you
