&lt;span class="postbody"&gt;Another way to level out everything is with a software-based audio processor.  Download the demo for Breakaway.  I use the Personal version.  I am a bit of an audio nerd and hate heavy compression.  I use the reference preset which does a great job of leveling out the karaoke tracks in Sig Pro without destroying the sound.  Although, there are presets that are much more aggressive if you desire.  I have purchased two licenses and heartily recommend it.

&lt;span class="postbody"&gt;You are probably importing ZIP files -- MP3 tag scanning is enabled, Siglos has to unpack every file and read the tags. It is recommended to switch off MP3 tag scanning when importing large amount of ZIP files.

&lt;span class="postbody"&gt;I'm pretty new to Siglos. Anyway, I'm importing from a Seagate 500gig external HD, about 400 actual gig on HD, and the import is taking for ever. According to the read out, it's going to take about 9 hours to update the data base. This can't possibly be correct can it? I've scanned the entire Data Base with Windows Search, and my song book software, and it takes about 10-20 minutes.

Am I doing somethig wrong or does this sound normal. What is is importing other than the path to the song?
