What are hardware requirements for your software?

You should have no problems with running our software on a modern computer. We recommend Windows XP, 1.5GHz or faster processor, 512 MB of RAM, and a decend sound and video card. Also our software requires DirectX (latest version is recommended).

Do I pay for software updates and bugfixes?

Maintenance updates are free for 1 year after purchase.

I want to run your software on a computer that is not connected to the internet. Is it possible?

Burn the setup software on a CD, or transfer it to your computer using any other media, for example pendrive, and run the setup on a destination machine. The connection to the Internet is not required for the software to work.


Installation

I get error 14001 during installation. What is it?

Your system has some DLL problems. Please download and run this file, and then try running installation again.

I get message An error occurred while trying to replace the existing file. What is it?

If you are running an update please make sure that the software you are updating is not running.


Purchasing our software

I want to buy your software. What do I do?

Select Buy Now tab on our website and follow the instructions. After your payment is authorized we will generate your personal code to unlock the software and will send it to you via e-mail. The orders are processed as soon as possible, usually immediately (we guarantee that we will send the registration number in 24 hours).

What payment options do you support?

We offer two ways to purchase our software. You may use our primary secure web store where you can pay with your Visa or MasterCard credit card (this is the preferred and the fastest method) or you may use Plimus payment processor pages with more payment options possible (they include credit cards, PayPal, debit cards, checks, and cash).

I have paid for your software but have not received my unlock code

If you have purchased our software and have not received any email from us, then please visit this forum and post your message using this link.
You can check the current status of your order made on our secure ordering pages with order numbers 11000 and larger. Please check your order status using this link.
We send the unlock code by email, so you need to make sure that your email account will accept emails from us. If you have spam filtering software enabled then adjust it so emails from domain powerkaraoke.com will be let through. Some ISP use very broad filters that block our emails.

I have entered the unlock code, but the software still is not fully functional

It is possible that you have made an error when entering your registration number. The best way to enter the unlock code is to copy it in email you received from us (select it with mouse and press Ctrl+C) and then to paste into dialog box (activate unlock code edit box and press Ctrl+V). You may also do the same for email address, as unlock code depends on it. If you are sure that you are entering your code properly, please send the screenshot of the About and Register dialog box to support@powerkaraoke.com and we will try to figure out what might be the problem.

Playing CD+G discs

When I play a CD+G with Power CD+G Player Pro all I see is blank screen

We are sorry, but it looks like your CD drive doesn't support CDG. There is nothing that can be done about it. The only option is to buy the one that does. We recomend Plextor, LiteOn or Pioneer drives for CDG.


PowerKaraoke and Power Video Karaoke

I have imported MIDI Karaoke song, but hear no sound. Why?

To use MIDI import you need to set the input and output settings of your soundcard. Some soundcards do not follow the Windows Mixer specifications correctly and therefore volume slider and automatic setting is not possible in PowerKaraoke. You have to do the following: run MIDI Import Wizard in PowerKaraoke and when you reach the second dialog box (Render), open Windows mixer (double click on the speaker icon near the clock on the task bar), select Options/Properties and choose Recording. Now you need to select MIDI as an input (if MIDI is not visible here make sure it is checked on the Option/Properties dialog box). Then return to PowerKaraoke and proceed with the convertion.

Unfortunately some soundcards do not allow MIDI to WAV recording. The solution might be wire-loop to link the output of the soundcard to the input (usually this would be a miniature jack to miniature jack lead that you should plug into line-in and line-out sockets of your soundcard). It should not degrade the sound, but it is the last resort.

How do I remove vocal from the song? Why were vocals not removed?

PowerKaraoke, PowerKaraoke Plus, and Power Video Karaoke contain a vocal remover, but please remember that it is not a magic tool -- it might not work for some songs. All vocal removal techniques are based on the assumption that the lead vocal is mixed in the middle of the stereo channels. Sometimes the song is produced in a different way and sound effects (reverb or chorus) applied to the lead vocal disturb the algorithm. Also compression used in MP3 makes it often impossible to remove vocal from a song.
