Sorry about the double posts and confusion.

I have installed 2.4.0.3, and so far so good. no crashing after 4 YT downloads, no using my work around tricks to delay or side step the 'eventual' crash.


thank you for staying with me on this, and getting this issue resolved. it has been a nuisance, and I am relieved to have a resolution.

I have sent my latest syslog.txt file via sendspace to you. I was having troubles accessing Web Transfer.

Yep, we use yt-dlp.exe to run YouTube searches.

I really never use youtube, but I had a request the other day, so I tried searching and downloading. but my anti virus (AVG free) keeps treating it like a threat - the file called "yt-dpl.exe"

It pops up for every search and atemp to DL

I have once again updated the downloader and could not reproduce an more issues. Please try this build:

Any closed to the 3rd party vendor 'fixing' their piece of the YT code I am still having the same issue, even after the upgrade to 2.4.0.1 (I currently have 2.4.0.1 installed)

Thanks for the efforts and diligence. I figured your hands were tied by something like this. Glad to know.

Were you able to recreate this issue on your side (assuming that is the case), or has anybody else had the same issue?

I have installed the version posted. Cant really say if there is any improvement, maybe the downloads are a bit faster.

I like downloading the vids from YT, as it is my safeguard against not having internet access at a gig (worst case scenario). Trying to do downloads or editing/messing with files is something I prefer not to do either in order to run a clean show.

For my tastes and uses, YT has the best library of weird stuff that you'd never see issued by Sound Choice/Sunfly/etc, however I have plenty of standard CDG+mp3 tracks.

We have been working on the issue for a while. The thing is we use third party software to provide access to Youtube and do not have full control over it. Having said that, please give this build a try, as it includes an updated YT downloader module:
