Newbie questions & enquiries

Good night Koraoke people,

I am JP, I am french, I live in Spain and I just fulfilled a lifetime dream: I am now the singer in a rock band... nothing ambitious, just a huge fun surge each week. To my surprise: my voice is OK, I am absolutely NOT tone deaf... In other words I might just do the job.... BUT..:

I have problems keeping the perfect rhythm of the more than 80 songs in the playlist of the band. I`am now taking singing lessons from a confirmed senior singer and he advised me to practice at home with the help of a karaoke software...

TO BE VERY HONEST WITH YOU GUYS: I am not too keen ON KARAOKE... BUT i AM SURE MY DAUGHTERS WILL GET ADDICT..ah aha

Therefore it is a great opportunity for me to seek help from the karaoke specialists both for my singing endeavor and for the pure fun of my daughters.

I have tried Smule for a while and with great enjoyment... it is a prefect match to my requirements when it comes to rhythm but... most of the songs I find there are not in my key ... and it ruins somehow all my efforts.

I am now aware that instead of streaming songs, I can also play them from a file I would have on my HD (from youtube for instance) thanks to a software that would allow me to record my voice on the sound track (with vocals possibly removed at home or absent on karaoke youtube files). Many software of this kind allow changes both in pitch and tempo.... that would be just magic...!

My question is then: does your software provide such options? And if not, would you be kind enough to guide me towards a software fully compatible with my needs? I will be more than happy to pay my (reasonable) share...!

Thanks in advance for your help... keep up the good job...!

Our Karaoke Sound Tools 2 processes MP3 files only, thus when it comes to MP4 video files downloaded from YouTube, you would have to strip a soundtrack from a video file using a third party software to a MP3 file process it with Karaoke Sound Tools 2 to change its pitch and tempo, and then replace an original soundtrack with the processing result. If it is the way you would consider to proceed, please download a trial version of Karaoke Sound Tools 2, and give it a try. The program is dedicated to MP3+G (CDG+MP3) karaoke processing, thus if you have any karaoke songs in this format, you may use the program directly.

You will find a detailed program description at the following link:

When it comes to vocal recording, our software does not support it for video files.
