Screen goes black on laptop when Karaoke Professionalis open

Two things are happening that I have not been able to fix with a tech.
Laptop monitor will intermittently go blank and my HDMI /DVI ability is gone.
I cannot figure out the source, but I am suspecting the only software using an extended screen and blank screen usually, if not always, happens when I am trying to boot up Karaoke Professional

Is your video card set up to use an extended desktop mode?
