Any recommend audio editing software in multiplexed mode?

Could you kindly recommend any appropriate audio editing software for PKV vocal off/on when playing in DVD or VCD.

Im looking to create opening and closing songs for my display this year. Im thinking about piecing together parts of several songs.

Does anyone use audio editing software? If so, what do you use? What would you recommend for a beginner who may only use it once or twice a year?

For splicing audio together. Audacity should be good enough for the job. Otherwise NCH Wavepad.
