Fixing file names of imported songs

Post by iphilcj »

I have the most recent version SKP. When I imported my songs (20,000) only about 4000 were matched. I know I can go back to edit songs so that the song information displays correctly, however that will take an extremely long time. An example of a song current filename is

Kareoke Library
- 0107
- 01 - Aerosmith - Fly Away Fro Here.zip
phmr0210-01 - Aerosmith - Fly Away From Here.cdg
phmr0210-01 - Aerosmith - Fly Away From Here.mp3

Is there a way to import the songs so that SKP recognizes disk info-Artist title? I have tried disabling ICD3 and changing the format of file name in SKP.

Is there an app or tool for changing file names that will allow me to batch files the need to be changed?

Thank youImage

You just need to adjust the name parsing rule so it exactly matches the format of the filenames.

Thanks Adam.

I have done that and have been able to get it closer to being right. A least Artist and title are now separated. However, for a lot of songs, none of the name parsing options will eliminate the disk info or track info.

DO I need to edit file names? If so are there any suggestions on how to handle a large number of files?

You may create your own name parsing rule. Have you tried to do this?

I use a software called Magic Filename Renamer...

It works very well with all sorts of files and you can trim or put in text.
