Crash when making avi file

Post by Stefano »

I'm using the trial version of Power Video Karaoke.

Everything works fine with the example song.

I've imported a .kar song and it plays correctly.

But when i try to make the avi file, the program crashes after i click Ok in ther Create AVI File dialog.

I didn't change any settings and i've update directx.

I'm using an amd athlon 1Ghz with 256Mb of ram and winxp home edition (italian).

Thank you for your help.

Are you using background AVI file? We have heard that some video encoders may cause crash. We are not sure what is causing this and are investigating the problem.

So I would suggest the following -- please disable the background AVI file (if it is enabled) and try using different video encoder (we recommend using DivX encoder as it gives the best quality with highest compression ratio).

Please let me know if you were sucessful.

Crash when making avi file

I'm not using any background.

I installed DivX Pro 5.1.1 Codec but the problem has not been solved.

With the example song i noticed that the lyrics are written also on the left side, near the waveform.

When i convert a song from the mid or format the lyrics are highlithed correctly in the right window during play but are not displayed near the waveform and the left side randomly flashes.

If it can help, i can send you the files.

Thank you very much for your support.

Have you tried selecting different video encoder? What encoder are you using?

Maybe this is causing the problems. The problems mentioned above was caused be the bug in MIDI Karaoke import and was fixed.

Yes, i tried several codecs. First of all Divx 5.1.1.

Now i found something. When setting up any text area (not 0x0x0x0) and using e.g. a screen wide of 480 x 640 ---> no problem

But: The Text is centered more and more then. Not all over the screen. More in the middle. Whats about that effect ? Its like a little box on my monitor screen.

Perhaps you have any idea about this.

Thank you very much !

Greetings.

I think what might be the problem. If you change the screen resolution you need to change the screen area accordingly. You if you change the resolution to 640x480, click 'Text Area' button and enter:

0
0 640
480

You may also need to increase the size of the font you are using.
