Installation problems

Post by rjsieg »

Hi
Just installed "karaokecdgcreatorsetup.exe"
Installer has no version info, so the name is all I have other than size
16,082,312 bytes. The installed exe is version 2.4.8.0.

During install, the installer could not find "MFC80.DLL"
A quick search reveled no less than 6 copies of this file, most newer than the ones your installer installed.

And, when I let the installer continue, and started the program, I got the famous PawLib missing error.

I had previously installed the demo version from your web site,
karaoke-cdg-burner-2-setup.exe (insert burner-2-setup)
made two tries, and got the pawlib error on both tries.

Love to try this thing out, but so far no luck installing it.

Please try to run the setup file with "Run as administrator" command.

Installation problems

Ok - so I did that.
runas /user:administrator karaokecdgcreatorsetup.exe in a dos window.

Got this error
c:\program files\doblin\kararoke CD+G creator\Powervocalremover.ax
Unable to register the DLL/OCX: regsvr32 failed with exit code 0x3

Then got the "can not find MFC80.dll" error

Then got this error
c:\program files\doblin\kararoke CD+G creator\PowerSlowDown.ax
Unable to register the DLL/OCX: regsvr32 failed with exit code 0x3

and on launch of the program, got the PawLib errror

Any other thoughts?

Please try to reboot the computer, and then use "Run as administrator" in pop-up (right-click) menu.

Fixed problem - at least so far....

Hi

Tried the clean boot - both on top of the existing install, and after deleting the old install.
Same results...

OK - something is messed up
tracked down the utility "depends.exe" and checked MFC80.DLL & PawLib.dll.
Both were looking for a Windows Vista and above files called "wer.dll" and "ieshims.dll".
These are not an old XP machine like mine.
tracked down the files, droped them in the system32 folder, rebooted.
depends.exe is now happy with both files.
did a manual regserv32 on pawlib - and bingo - it starts.
Now - I'm not sure all the bits and pieces are corrent - so
I'll work with it for a bit and see what develops.
but - at least it now starts.

Once more into the deep....

So after registering pawlib, and Powervocalremover.ax and PowerSlowDown.ax the program seemed to be working. At least once. Now it starts correctly, but as soon as I try to import ad CDG file, it crashes. I get this msg:
The instuction at "0x00421f85" referanced memory at "0x00212000". The memory could not be "read".
Click ok to terminate the program
Click on Cancel to degug the program

No clue where to start on this one.
FYI - windows XP pro - all updats installed
User has admin rights
Not sure what else you need.

I'm sorry, but we cannot reproduce the described problems on our test machines. Also, we do not have similar reports from other customers who purchased the software. This situation seems to be specific to your software/hardware configuration.
