Software will not unlock

Hi,

I recently gave an old XP laptop to my daughter to use as a karaoke machine in our basement, and she installed an old version of Siglos Karaoke Pro 1.2.55 that she got from a school friend in order to try it.

It turned out that this was a "cracked" version........ I know...... please don't preach...... kids will be kids and all that, and I am trying to put this right.

In order to do so, on Sunday I purchased the full version from the website.

As I am currently away from home working, I used remote access, through Teamviewer, to delete the cracked version and all the files and folders I could find referring to Siglos, then ran a registry cleaner to clear out any reg files. After re-starting the laptop, I installed the full version, and put in all my details and the password I received by email, but for some reason the software will not activate properly.

It comes up with something about it being an old version and that updates were available for 1 year from the original purchase date.
I tried it on the laptop I have here with me (W7), and it installs perfectly with no problems, so I can only assume that the old version on hers has left some files in place when I uninstalled it.

Is there any way around this now without doing a complete format and re-install ? as I am away for another 2 weeks, and she has her birthday this coming Saturday and wants to use it for the party.

I hope she has learned her lesson !

i would do the install...
ignore the warning for now...
then go to help, about...
what version does it say?
it should say 2.2.1.2
does it?

Yes, it says 2.2.1.2

However, we can't leave it as it still only works as a trial version.

The best way to enter the unlock code is to select the entire email with
the unlock key (press Ctrl+A), and then copy it to the clipboard (press
Ctrl+C). All fields in Unlock dialog should be populated.

If this does not work please copy and paste the unlock code. To do this
copy it in the registration email (select it with mouse and press
Ctrl+C) and then paste into the dialog box (activate unlock code edit
box and press Ctrl+V).You may also do the same for email address, as
unlock code depends on it.
