Siglos crashes and shuts down

Post by moesdad »

In July I purchased the Siglos player/recorder Version 1.2.30 and it still will not work. I get "runtime errors" and the program shuts down when I click "Start" to begin playing a song file.

I tried deleting the database file and start clean and still it crashes and shuts down. I also tried running the Registry file that was sent to me to reset the registry entries to the default and again it still won't work. So today I uninstalled the software and then reinstalled it and again the same issue - it crashes when attempting to play a song file.

I am running Windows XP.

If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.

Siglos crashes

Post by moesdad »

I reinstalled Siglos and also updated Directx and still the Siglos software crashes when I try to play a songfile regardless of if it is a digital file or directly from a CDG. I emailed you a log file of the error hoping that will help.

Let me know what to do now - thanks.

my friend bought the program and is having that same problem but I did find when I was trying to figure it out I found out if I double click on a song that I have on my computer it would open the program and play that song then the program locks up and I can get it to do anything. Did anyone figure this out yet. I did have her send an e-mail to the addy that he told some others to send stuff too but I have her computer and would like to get it working for her.

If you are using the pro version. I found it also crashes or hangs or skips in the middle of a song when my virus protection is running.

So since we are not connected to a network of any kind, i simply disable the virus protection until the end of the show.

I also have to disable the auto update for xp. as it continuously tries to access the internet for updates hogging out valuable resources.

Also if you have the full version. make sure you have the latest update. Sometimes that helps.

See if that works.

Perhaps it would help if you could let us know the following

Computer
OS
RAM
HD Space

I know I tried the program on an older system with 98 and 200mb ram and it did what your describing.

I now use a acer aspire 1.8ghz
2gb ram
120gb InternalHD with a 500 gb External USB drive (for my song files)

I still have a few bugs to work out, but for the most part it works for 4-6 hours before problems begin to appear. (Probably due to win XP itself or Heat problems)
