songs won't play

Post by pgray »

i have karaoke pro.(latest version) everything works fine untill i hit the start button after the song has been cued.when i press start the screen goes black and will not play.this is only for songs in my database.if i go directly to my external hard drive and select a song from there and select "open with siglos" it opens and plays the song.this however is not a viable option since i have 10,000 songs to manually look through in hundreds of subfolders.

Make sure that the drive letter hasn't changed on the External hard drive. If you loaded the data and the drive letter was E. and now it is F. The program can't find the Path to the song so the screen goes black. You can change the drive letter to match the Drive path to the External hard drive.

Hi,
Dana48457 said, "You can change the drive letter to match the Drive path to the External hard drive." How or where do you do that? Is it possible without rebuilding the database?
Thank you, Julie

You may use 'Validate songs' button to modify the database entries with updated drive letter info.

Alternatively you may change the assigned drive letter using: Computer Management -> Disc Management -> Change Drive Letter and Paths.

Please right-click the Computer icon (or My Computer icon), and choose the Manage command from the pop-up menu.
