Problem Importing Database

Post by stupedaso »

I'm having a issue importing my data base. I have purchased the software "Power Karaoke" I have my cd-g files on the same hard drive as the software. I have repeatedly tried to import the files but to no avail. The program stops and then I see it has stopped responding. I have my cd-g files in one folder broken down by the company who produced them. I have over 100,000 songs. I tried to import the files one at a time and that seemed to work until I got to the bigger files and again it just stops. I think the files may be zipped so my question is do I need a winzip program to upload. I'm using window XP pro on a dual core desktop with 2 gigs of ram. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have tried every combination to get it to import but nothing.

Is it Siglos Karaoke Professional you are writing about? Please try to disable "Read title/artist data from ID3 tags" option in the Import songs dialog box.

I'm not sure what you mean by bigger files. When importing the files into Siglos database, the size of the files does not matter as only the file location info is saved in the database, not the file itself.

Problem Importing Database

Let me explain how I set up my files. I have a folder named Main Karaoke in this file I have folders that are named after the producers of the songs IE: sound choice, sunfly, chartbusters etc. In these folders are the actual cd-g files . When I try to import the data base to Siglos Karaoke pro the computer hangs and then I get a message not responding. When I try to export just the subfolder IE: sound choice, sunfly, chartbusters etc. It will work but then I have a issue where it can't see the files once I imported them. Any Suggestions would be helpful

Please delete siglos.db file from My Documents/My Karaoke, and then try to repeat the import procedure. Are the files CDG only?
