Siglos player/recorder

Hello, I've recently purchased the Power CD+G burner program & it works great. I'm now considering purchasing the "Siglos player/recorder" software but I have a question or two.

I've downloaded the trial version just to see if the recording part of the program works as advertised but at the present time I only have a mic that's part of a Logitech headset and of course the recording isn't the best.

So here's my questions:
1. Is there a computer microphone anyone out there would recommend?
2. Assuming you have a good mic, what settings have you found where the mixed output is the best?

Any help would be much appreciated.
