I can successfully burn disks that will read just fine on everything (including old JVC Karaoke Machines) if I burn using my old PX-708 or older vintage Plextors (shows 4x option under burn speed) but with the newer PX-850 or 880 they show a minimum burn speed of 8x and they WILL NOT read on JVCs....using same software and media (Power CD+G Burner, older version)
1. Does anyone know how to FORCE the burn speed slower than 8x for newer SATA-connected drives?
2. Is the latest BURNER version able to adjust/force the burn speed lower to say 4x or even 2x where my older BURNER will not?
3. Is anyone successfully burning CDGs using newer Plextor SATA drives where they play just fine on older JVC karaoke players?
Not sure that the burn speed, even if you can force it lower is the real problem....perhaps Plextor changed their firmware or hardware somewhere along the way to where CD-R recordings with newer burner JUST DO NOT WORK with the antiques.....smile.
Thanks for any advice/comments. Until then, will happily suffer the old IDE connections on the 708/716 drives and burn slower with them.....at least they play perfectly on everything!!

BTW
When I said READ is should have said it plays the audio just fine, but the graphics do not show on JVC players, regardless of the settings.....the synch just keeps blinking when playing "Burned" disks......
Using older Plextor burners, all works just fine.....LK

Thanks but have tried various combinations and various media before reverting to the old Plextor HW. My default is in raw mode so I understand why you posted that, but that is not the key...or so it seems.......it was only after going back to the old stuff AND being able to set burn speed to less than 8x that my disks again played flawlessly on JVC players....so is it the speed or is it changes in the hardware/firmware itself!!??....dunno but I will keep trying to find a way to use the newer burners to produce JVC-readable graphics....smileadam wrote:Please try to change the burning mode in Power CD+G Burner. For example please switch to CDRDao mode, and enable MMC_RAW driver.
