AVI output doesn't work

I'm a new user of the conversion software. About half the time, the conversion is hanging up at the point where it is converting to AVI. it sits at 65% or 75%. I even left one conversion alone overnight to see if it would be done in the morning. No. The only thing I can do is close down the program, reboot and start again. It usually works the second try. But this means I can only convert one song at a time, instead of a whole CD. I can't just select 15 songs and walk away from the computer. It is frustrating and takes way too much time.

Then I got the idea of selecting MPEG instead of AVI as the output and it works like a dream.

What can I do to make the AVI work? AVI files take up much less space on my hard drive. Thanks for your help.

What codec are you using for video compression? Did you try to change it?
