I like the enhancements that you added for the remote queue. The addition will allow the KJ to customize the remote queue to his/her liking.
But I have a few questions for you:
1. On the "Singer Properties" window, why does the "Remote Queue Pin" always display a -1. Shouldn't it display the pin that the singer establish?
*EDIT* Never mind, it used to happen in the previous version but it's fixed in version 24
2. On the remote queue window, will you be editing it so the KJ can move the various columns in whatever order he/she wants?
3. When a singer submits a request through the remote queue their name remains on the window to submit a song so if I'm using a kiosk, the next singer must clear out the information. Can that page be reset to clear out the last request information?
4. How do you clear the remote queue history? Using the right click and selecting any of the choices will not do anything. It seems like the right click feature is broken.
That's it for now. Keep up the good work because KP is only getting better with each enhancement.*

I like the cookies thing. Going to test it this weekend at my two shows.

1) the new settings window looks great, logical, clean, and much easier to read.Piotr wrote:Guys, I have uploaded new build here:
2) title page buttons control, as always, you got EXACTLY what i had envisioned.
3) text color adjustment makes it look so cool!
4) changing venues works great, time now for me to do some heavy housecleaning in my histories.
this is really turning into a formidable request system. how are things looking for logging into a singers history on their phone?

looking good
I agree with paradigm, I have to go take out the bad song versions so people don't pick them in an automated system. For anyone interested, I was able to link my karaoke page with the ip address I have on my laptop so people can just click a link to get there. I use my own router that has openwrt on it and use it as a wireless relay for internet. I upload each venue from a file to the router and my laptop ip address stays the same. I have 4 different places a week I run from. Great job on the new program, we appreciate it.

you can let people connect to your own router AND still be online? how do you do this?
Re: looking good
You need two network interfaces -- one used for internal network serving your show (this is what you need to select in Siglos) and another one for connecting to the internet. You may need to add a WiFi or Ethernet dongle to your laptop if you have only one network interface.Paradigm Karaoke wrote:????cdakaraoke wrote:I agree with paradigm, I have to go take out the bad song versions so people don't pick them in an automated system. I will explain this in a manual.
And a new build is in the making, we finishing working on user login and couple more good things. Then I think we will be ready for an official release.

Actually, the interfaces are handled by the router. With the right firmware, you can have multiple interfaces. Give me a few, I will point you to the right direction.

routers
I am using a netgear wndr3800 router bought off of e-bay for like 20 bux. If you google that with openwrt you will find the pages on how to install the firmware on the stock router. I have tried some other routers like linksys wrt54 and a couple others but this netgear model has worked the best and fastest for me. If you google openwrt wi-fi repeater, it should take you to a page on how to set it up. Once set up, everyone will be on your network and still have internet access. Try it at home first to get a feel for how it works. Once you know the steps, it's really easy to add venues while you are at them and backup the settings to a file. One thing to note, you need a wired connection at first to set up the first time. I set the 5ghz band for me and the 2.5ghz for everyone else. That way I can log in without needing a wired connection. By the way, I have a mixer that uses an ethernet connection to a computer interface, it's wired to the router and I can access it wirelessly.
jerry.
If you get confused after buying one of these things, I will be glad to give you contact info on me to im me.

One more thing to note, most ip addresses for home internet are 192.168.1.xx or 192.168.0.xx. It's best to put your router lan address at something different like 192.168.5.1 in the past I have had routers be intermittent without this change.

Remote Song Input
Is it possible to?
Scenario
John D (Secret Code 1234) submits Garth Brook's Friends In Low Places on his phone.
John D's request shows up in the Remote Queue. There is a (*) in the duplicate field which means there is more then one version. The KJ right clicks on the request and selects (Open in Add Singer). Now the song is displayed in the singer's song list. BTW the last version alphabetically by disc number is automatically chosen.
Is it possible to have the version already in the singer's history automatically chosen?
Or
Is it possible to have the program work like this?
The song request comes in and the song and artist populate inside the global filter field so the KJ can choose the version.
Also is it possible to get the program to remember the position of the remote queue window when you close down and reopen Siglos?
Thanks

Port 80
Tip!
Why not just use port 80 instead of 6803?
This way you don't have to explain the :6803 part to the customers.
They can just type 192.168.1.xxx instead of 192.168.1.xxx:6803.
Port 80 is the universal port for HTTP/Web stuff.

routers
Yes, the internet comes from the bar's wifi and is entering through an interface on my router that is wwan, or wireless wide area network. Everyone that wants to use the app point's their wifi to my router which I have named karaoke with no password. everyone on that side all share the ip address set that I have set up in my router, in my case 192.168.5.1. My router assigns ip numbers to my singers in the 192.168.5.xx range. My laptop has the same ip address everywhere I go because it's the same router, mine. Everyone accesses the bar's internet through my router. I have setting in a bckup file on my laptop for each venue. I access the backup portion of my router when I get on location and upload that bar's setting. Easy once set up.Paradigm Karaoke wrote:am i understanding this correctly?
everyone is still using the bars wifi, but going through your router set up as a repeater. your computer always connects to that router for the network, but t's not isolated from the internet since it's acting as a repeater.
Is that what you wanted to know?

Thanks Jerry, that's what i wanted to know.
last time i tried to set a static IP i lost all connection so i may hit you up for help on that part if you don't mind.
********Piotr******
i noticed on the current queue screen, if i turn the phone to landscape, i can see more entries, but the top singer and header get cut off. this happens with Firefox or Chrome.

No problem on the help. I am playing with a router at home right now that has dd-wrt installed. Let me tell you, openwrt is way easier to deal with. If you are going to get a used router to do this, make sure openwrt supports it.Paradigm Karaoke wrote:Thanks Jerry, that's what i wanted to know.
