Karaoke CD+G Creator Consistent Crash

When trying to apply settings in karaoke cd+g creator, it frequently completely shuts down before I am able to save changes and there have been some changes I've tried to make such as change the background color that will not just do not happen whether is crashes or not.

Which release of the program do you have currently installed?

It's version 2.5.6.3 I'm also having trouble with the files playing on a laptop installed with compuhost. If there's a way to check the release info, please let me know. Thanks!
