Problem updating database from CD-G disk

Post by wrwrainbow »

I currently have just the trial copy of Siglos Karaoke Professional since I wanted to see if there were any issues before I purchased the product. The problem that I am having is that the songs (file type .cda) will play directly from the CD-G disc, but when I attempt to import them into the database from the CD-G disc it doesn't find any files to import. The file types that are listed on the import screen doesn't include .cda files so I guess that is why it won't import them. The question is, how do I get them from the CD-G disc into the database (or onto my hard drive) so that I don't have to put a disc in everytime I want to play a karaoke song. Another piece of information is that even when the song is playing it is identified by the track number from the CD-G not the title of the song. However, Itunes will extract an .M4A file complete with song title and load it onto the hard drive. Of course, those files won't play using the Siglos software, but will play in Itunes.

You can't add the tracks from a CD+G disc directly to the database. You have to rip the karaoke tracks to the hard drive first, for example using Power CD+G Burner.

You may set the song from CD+G disc for the singer, but in such case you have to use 'Add CD track' option in 'Add singer' dialog box. If you do so, you will be prompted to insert the disc into the drive when his turn comes.

Regarding the titles, please make sure 'FreeDB name lookup' option is enabled in the Settings (File -> Settings -> CD Settings).
