still a bust Piotr..anything above 28 is showing me a blank list in the manage song dialog..I was wondering why the remote cache was going almost straight to green at startup I'm guessing its because of this glitch that started with 29. I'm thinking it has to be the database file itself cause I have tried everything else you suggested. or something that changed in 29 & up thats preventing proper reading of the db file.

hawke, have you tried using the reset script to see if it will help? Sometime this script will fix the hiccups SKP runs into every now and then.

Yep I even created a new database which did show all my songs but lost my singers. Overlayed the old database over the new got my singers back but back to a blank list in the manage songs dialog. Put 28 back in and I have singers and songs. Leads me to believe something changed between 28 and 29 and stayed there through 32..lol

ok, tried on three comps and had the same problem 100% on each one.
logging in and picking from history works fine, but the singer first has to pput in a song from the search so i can connect them (not a big deal at all really) but when searching, SKP locks up and each time i press on the song the CPU usage goes up higher. this is the same issue i several builds ago on one comp, but it now happens on every comp every time.

also, songs that i just added today and yesterday do not show on the new songs page, but if i change to 365 days it DOES show songs in there, just not today or yesterdays additions.

this freeze seems to be isolated to
country songs
duets.

Metallica, Ozzy, Anthrax, Green Day, Sinatra, Dylan...no problem
Garth, Trisha, Waylon, Willie, Alan Jackson...freeze

also duets
Ozzy... Crazy Train, fine. Matchstick Men, no problem, Bark At The Moon, smooth as silk, Close My Eyes Forever with Lita Ford...crash.

Evanescence, Everybodys Fool, fine. Haunted, no issue. My Immortal, works just right. Bring Me To Life female solo, great. Bring Me To Life duet, crash.

and when it locks up, if i'm able to close it, i still have to use task manager to end task.

Paradigm is the lock up isolated to a particular manu or it doesn't matter which manu you select? I've been trying to duplicate your problem, but I'm not experiencing the same thing you are. Can you list the exact steps that you're doing? I'm thinking maybe I'm doing something just a little different and that's the reason I'm not running into the same problem as you. MY CPU useage when searching only goes up to around 6-8% and my computer isn't locking up.

i wish it was isolated to a manu, then i could just convert those files again and be on my way, but SC, CB, PHM, ZM....it makes no difference. i really cant figure it out. sent a log to Piotr hoping something shows up there as to what is happening.
what's weird is it WAS working fine, then i updated to the latest version and that's when it happened. thought maybe something went sideways so reintalled the previous version and it did not fix the problem. everything else works just fine outside of selecting a duet in the request app.
exact steps
1) search for song or browse by artist (happens both ways)
2) select a duet
3) the phone keyboard goes away
4) the song i want is highlighted but goes no further
5) try the same thing with a non duet song
6) success.

this goes against all logic, there's no way it can know it's a duet, yet, it laughs at me.

side note...Piotr
could there be a way to mark duets on the songs themselves?
this way when people come up asking what duets i have (quite often this happens) we could click a button or select a checkbox on the app and show all the duets?

Paradigm I followed your instruction to a tee, but it worked perfectly. This is what I did:
1. Logged in
2. Clicked on Search by Artist
3. Typed Summer Nights (Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta is displayed)
4. Clicked on Summer Nights
5. iPhone keyboard disappears, but if I click on Remarks it comes back
6. Click on Submit
7. Summer Nights shows up on KP's Remote Queue display
8. Right click song and select Add
9. Song goes into KP's queue
10. Click on Start and song starts playing

The second attempt I entered the request on my laptop with same results.

Not sure what is happening with your request, but I can't duplicate your error. I tried requesting an mp4 and CDG duet, but it didn't make a difference. You think it may be your router? How about if you copy the karaoke song on to your desktop and add it using the Add File on the Add Singer popup. I'm wondering if for some odd reason it's your external hard drive connection. My songs are on a separate partition on my laptop's hard drive. I'm just throwing things out there that is different between your setup and mine.

I have discovered that the individual's songs show (on their name in the add singer and when they log in remotely) and can be clicked, on submitted and even played but none of them show in the manage song dialog

where mine differs is number 5.
i can not click on remarks because it does not go to that page.
after clicking the song, this is where it freezes.

if you see at the bottom left, it says waiting for [address], and goes no further.
clicking the song once brougt the CPU to 31.7% for SKP. a second click brings CPU up to 64.3% but still goes nowhere.
i do not use an external, i have a second internal drive just for music (leave my os and programs on the primary SSD only). i can manually add it to SKP just as i always have in the add singer dialog, the file itself is fine, it is ONLY the request system that has any problem. once a song gets to the rempte queue display things go smoothly, it is getting the request there that is the problem.

formatted the hard drive and reinstalled windows from scratch...
same issue.

every song that does this has an ampersand.

changed the name in the song database to
Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood - Wild As The Wind
and i can send it no problem

changed it back to having the ampersand and it goes back to freezing.

Paradigm I concur with this problem. I wasn't experiencing your error because I don't have any artist or title with the ampersand because it was easier using the word "and" with my previous kiosk program. I switched out the "and" with the ampersand and wala, I'm having the same problem. Although you had to go through the painful task of reinstalling windows at least you know what's causing the computer freeze up. Sweet catch! It'll now be easier for Piotr to fix this problem.

We will not add any new features in the next week or so, as we will test the software, add the documentation and make a official release. However there is one thing we are working on and should be added soon -- the ability to add tags to songs. This (along with extra functionality in database search) would allow to mark a song as duet, assign song to a venue and more. This would be paired with custom buttons on the remote welcome screen. So you would be able to create a button called [Duets] and assign song to that button. Hope to have it done in October.
