Performance Scores
I run Karaoke sessions mostly with people from the Far East. They are very much hooked on the Score they can get.
On most systems (eg Videoke, Platinum) found in Asia there's a feature that gives points to the singer's performance. This is done by comparing the beat and tone of the original track and the singer's input on the microfone.
Though I'm not particulary adherent to it (normally when I use in Europe, I turn it off), I think adding this feature will expand significantly your potential markets.

Re: Performance Scores
It is rather impossible to do, scoring requires special tracks that have additional information that can be used to verify how good the singer is.
The feature we are working on is voting, which would allow guest to give scores to performances.

Re: Performance Scores
Thanks Piotr - voting is also pretty cool and community building tool. Probably fairer that the signal processing that one can cheat by filling the channels with garbage sound.
Re: Performance Scores
When that function (voting) is available or ready to use it? It sounds really cool!
Inquiry about the voting feature in SKP
Almost two years ago, it was mentioned that you were working on a voting feature that would allow users to give scores to performances. I would like to know if this feature is close to being released in an upcoming version of SKP or if there are any updates on its development.
Thank you in advance for your response and for the great work you’re doing with the platform.

Re: Performance Scores
I am afraid this feature is still in the works.

Re: Performance Scores
Personally I feel that it would cause some problems with singers getting upset with low scores when they felt like they hit it out of the park. Hopefully if it gets implemented the users can choose whether or not they will use it or not.
Re: Performance Scores
My suggestion for this:
For competition: It actually would be cool to set "judges" with a special login code in the remote queue to score. The KJ would need to set parameters if they want to score based on separate categories about the performance and not a single number. The KJ should also have access to all the votes being tallied and not just a overall total so that judges can be held accountable if they're clearly being biased. This information would also need to persist through sessions so that it can be accessed later (perhaps if a singer wants to know the breakdown of their scoring)
Just for fun: scale of 1-10 that can be accessed by people at the venue using the QR code?
