Scrolling message not showing first upcoming singer.

Re: Scrolling message not showing first upcoming singer.
It was a rare time that it actually cut out in the middle of someone's song, and I felt really awful that it happened. That's not an issue I'd be willing to repeat during a show for a log. I'm sorry I didn't have logs enabled at the time. I promise I will enable the log on a future build in case there's any issues I will have data for you before reverting to the previous stable build.
Re: Scrolling message not showing first upcoming singer.
I decided to give .24 a try again and while the scroll message is still not working with larger fonts or a long string of characters, it has yet to crash on me. I did notice that you updated connectkaraoke to combine songs with different caps and that's really helpful. Thank you. I still have the log enabled, so in the event it crashes, I'll email it right away.
Re: Scrolling message not showing first upcoming singer.
Using .25 tonight and I was messing around with the scrolling message settings again. Everything works fine with "Use Old Style" checked. Without it checked, it is still freezing with additional text or making the font larger. Hopefully this information helps.
Re: Scrolling message not showing first upcoming singer.
Thanks, I will work on this for the next couple of days and hopefully get it fix for good. Sorry for the issue.
Re: Scrolling message not showing first upcoming singer.
And if you could send me your settings, I would appreciate it.
Re: Scrolling message not showing first upcoming singer.
Sent 2 settings, one with my preferred settings that doesn't work on my system and the one I have to use that currently works.
Re: Scrolling message not showing first upcoming singer.
Wanted to say that I tested this feature on my home PC and it's working on win10. The issue is with win7.
Re: Scrolling message not showing first upcoming singer.
I am still working on it, the thing is I cannot reproduce it even on my Windows 7 machine with lowest specs I could find (1 core, 2GB RAM). Have you tried updating your display driver?
Re: Scrolling message not showing first upcoming singer.
I'm using 5 of the same laptop and they all have the same issue.
They are Toshiba A215, AMD processor, Radeon gpu, upgraded to SSD and 4gb RAM. All running Windows 7 and driver's are updated. Hope this info helps.

OK, please try this build:
https://www.powerkaraoke.com/download/2 ... -setup.exe
Go to Settings / KJ Adv and enable 'Use slower scrolling message'.
Please let me know hot it goes.

Re: Scrolling message not showing first upcoming singer.
Edit+TLDR: It's working as intended, however if the CPU slows for any reason such as opening another program, windows closes SKP which I haven't had happen before. I sent you an email with my settings and crash log.
I tried updating my laptop to win10, after getting everything situated and drivers up to date, the scroll was still malfunctioning (and SKP was running much slower, had to reduce the video settings to the bare minimum in order to get a good framerate). Updated SKP to 2.4.3.30 and still nothing until I checked out that new feature you mentioned and that worked! Now to revert back to windows 7 and see if it will still work. Will update as soon as I get that done.
Thanks Piotr!!

Re: Scrolling message not showing first upcoming singer.
2.4.4: Program still crashes randomly with that "slower scroll" setting enabled, however scroll messages don't work at all with it disabled for me.
Re: Scrolling message not showing first upcoming singer.
Sorry about that... will keep working on the issue.]
One question though -- does the crash appear also if you disable scrolling message completely?

Re: Scrolling message not showing first upcoming singer.
OK, I think I got it. Please try 2.4.4.1.

Re: Scrolling message not showing first upcoming singer.
Sorry Piotr, 4.4.1 does not play karaoke, the fill in works fine but then hitting play for karaoke forces a complete shutdown of SKP.
removed all SKP using Revo Uninstall, reinstall, registry reset for a total clean install and the same thing happpens.
3 different computers with Windows 10 and 11 with the same results.
went back to 4.3.30 and all is well.
