I have downloaded the trial versions for the Power CD+G to iPod converter and the Karaoke Tools. This is what I am needing the product to do: My son sings in talent shows and some of the karaoke cds that we have purchased have background vocals that we would like to remove as much as possible. I have only tried removing the vocals from a regular cd. The karaoke cd that I tried was not recognized by the trial program that I downloaded. So I am not sure exactly what I am needing product wise in order to remove the vocals from a karaoke cd. Also, I would like to be able to load the karaoke songs after removing the vocals onto his iPod and to a CD. This would make it easier to take to different shows that he does without switching between a bunch of cds. We would just have to use a speaker to play the music through. I also like the karaoke tools that allows you to change the key that the karaoke cd is in. Are you able to save the changes, of taking off the vocals and changing the key the song is in, to a cd or to the iPod? Do I need other software to run the karaoke sound tools? Can it run on its own? Can the Power CD+G to iPod converter run by itself or do you need other programs for it to work? Thank you in advance for your help with this.

Please note that you have to rip the audio track from a CD and save it as a WAV (or MP3, although WAV is recommended) file to process it using Karaoke Sound Tools. You can do this using Power CDG Burner or any other software with this feature, for example Audiograbber (it is a free product). The resulting file can be used when converting karaoke CDG track to iPod format. When you use Power CDG to iPod Converter, you may convert the karaoke CDG tracks directly from a CDG disc. You do not have to rip those to the hard drive first.

I figured out the converting of the karaoke cds to mp3 format. Thank you. So, will I need the Power CDG to iPod Converter to move the songs that are ran thru the Sound Tools software to get them to the iPod? Or will I just be able to save them back to the iTunes file and convert to AAC?

You do not need the converter if all you want is the audio. All you need to do is to drag result MP3 file and drop it on your iTunes window.

Power CD+G to iPod Converter creates a video file of karaoke CD+G discs (or files from the hard disc).

So if I want to have the words from the karaoke cd+g show up on the iPod screen, then the Power CD+G to iPod converter would work for that, right?

Yes, that is correct.
