Hi, I have the software power video karaoke and I love the software. It is an excellent software. Now, I would like to make a karaoke disc so that I can change the vocal on and off by the dvd players. Is it possible to do so? Please advise, thank you.

You may try to create a soundtrack stereo file that contains vocal in one channel, and the other one is vocaless. You need audio processing application to mix the files, for example Audacity. Then if you switch between the channels during playback, you will be able to switch the vocal on and off.

Hi, I don't know how do you do that. Can you please give me more detail? I really wish to do so. First of all, I open my song (with vocal) on Audacity and how do I create vocal in one channel and the other without?

First you have to create two mono tracks: one with vocal and the other one without vocal. To do that:

1. Import the first track into the Audacity.
2. Use Split stereo track from the track menu.
3. Set mono for both tracks in the track menu.
4. Lower the track gain using the slider to 6dB.
5. Use Quict Mix from the Project menu to mix the track.

In result you will get one mono track. Do this for both tracks (vocal and vocaless), so to get two mono tracks. Next:

1. Set Left channel for one track (vocal) and Right channel for the other (vocaless).
2. Select the tracks, and choose Make stereo track from the track menu.
3. Export the resulting track as WAV of MP3.

Now, I know how to create one mono track for vocal...but I have problem with the "vocaless" one. I did the same steps(1-4) as vocal, but since I "quick mix" them together, I got a straight line (all silent). By the way, when you said lower the level to 6dB, you mean -6dB, right?

On the other hand, now if I unplug the right channel of the speaker I got vocal and if I unplug the left channel, I got vocalness. But I still can't set the menu from the dvd player - audio 1 and audio2 on a dvd (with plugging both cable into the dvd player). Like the multi languages movie. As I know, for VCD, I have to do so....but for dvd, I am supposed to do it by the menu instead of unplug the cables, right? Thank you very much.

In case of vocaless track, do not use Quick Mix command, just delete one channel, and use the other one as mono.

I'm sorry, but I do not know how to create a DVD track so you could switch the vocal on/off using the menu. I suppose there should be an option in the DVD authoring software that allows it.
