Which is better?

I want to make karaoke cd's to take with me when I go out to do karaoke. I want to make sure the cd's I burn work at the different karaoke bars.

Should I make my files .bin or .cdg ???

Power CD+G Burner will convert both CDG and BIN and will make a karaoke disc that plays on all karaoke machines. The difference is when you store files on your computer -- MP3/CDG files are smaller then BIN (they have compressed audio).

If you plan on storing your tracks on your hard drive, mp3+g is perfered.

If you only want to take a couple tracks and burn to CD, leave them in .bin format and you can delete them after you burn.

A CD+G player may have problems with different CDR brands, however, that would be trial and error. Most models have no problems playing backups.

You have to burn BIN files with Power CD+G Burner to create CD+G disc. Here is the tutorial:

Please set the disc you have burned on your computer with Siglos or Power CD+G Player Pro and see if it plays there.

Ok.

Put the burned disk in your cdrom, right click and select explore.

What files are on the disk?

If there are CDA files, then the problem would be with the players. Your disk would have burned correctly.

Are the tracks commercial or home made?

And,

What system is your KJ using? Is the player a JVC or RSQ?

We will get to the bottom of this one quick.

The files are CDA. The tracks are home made karaoke done with Karaoke CD-G Creator. But I'm not sure what kind of system this KJ uses. I do know that she does NOT use a laptop, which many of the other KJ's I know of, do.

Thanks for all the help with this. I can't wait to do my songs!!!

With all the information you give, the disk has burned properly.

My questions about commercial or homemade tracks, and the make of the player was rather pointed.

JVC / RSQ type players have trouble reading graphics from homemade tracks, whereas nearly all other brands of player seem to have no problems at all.

Playback on your computer confirms that your disk has burned proper.

BTW... The music should play reguardless.

Hope this has helped.

Thanks for all the help.
I took my CD to a different KJ last night who said my CD works fine. He informed me that it was possible the other KJ just didn't know how to work it.

Will be going to yet another KJ tonight and can't wait to finally use the CD. :D
