run timr error

When I tried to open a song I received the following message : "Runtime Error - This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the applications support team for more information." I only had the program open for maybe 30 minutes before I began loading songs for singers. The very first song I tried to play I got this message and the program shut down. What do I need to do? Noticed some files in the song database are cdg. and others are bin. whick one is prefered? Would this cause this runtime problem?
