I was looking through the various programs and was unable to locate one that would rip songs from DVD. I have been looking to purchase DVD karaoke and don't want to buy until I know what program will work. I currently own Power CDG Burner and RoxBox Converter.

I'm sorry, but ripping of DVD discs is not supported by our software.

Is there an issue with ripping DVD to MP3+G? Is it something being considered or is it something that cannot be done easily?

The conversion of DVD to CDG (MP3+CDG) is not possible due to the differences between both formats.

I recently purchased Siglos Karaoke Professional . I haven't really used it yet. I see that you also have a DVD karaoke burner. Will this enable these to be viewed in the Siglos Karaoke Professional? Thank you.

I'm sorry, but ripping of DVD discs is not supported in Karaoke DVD Burner. You may however rip DVD discs to AVI or MPEG using a software from other vendors, and then play back the video files in Siglos.

I'm confused. What is the purpose of the Karaoke DVD burner? These are karaoke DVDs I'm talking about.

It burns DVD disc using CDG content: CDG files or CDG tracks ripped directly from CD+G discs.

So if I want to use a DVD format karaoke song on my computer, all I need to do is have a host program that will read it? Does Siglos or any host program play DVD content?

You may play back DVD discs using Windows Media Player.

I get that we can use the karaoke DVD in our computer/laptop using any DVD program. A no brainer - been doing that for a long time. Now, I'm only assuming, because I haven't tried it yet, that it will not put it in the line up on Karaoke Pro. I know there is a way to ignore that. Put the singer in the loop with another song and then just cancel it, pause the program when it is his/her turn and let the person sing the DVD selection instead.
The boxes containing my DVD karaoke disks do not mention anything about CDG. So I'm guessing mine do not qualify.
I wasn't aware there are DVDs in CDG format. Interesting. Not sure what the point of those are.... but at least I get it now.
Thanks!!

The DVD discs burned using Karaoke DVD Burner are not in CDG format. Those are standard DVD discs.
