Can't play karaoke discs

Post by sayra »

 ASAP

I have this problems,i do all the steps to make my own files but when i try to play it on my karaoke cdg player, the music is on but no display on the tv.

this is how i make it.

I use the power karaoke plus
I load a mp3 track with no voice
then i insert the lyrics
and then i syncronize the music
then create the cdg file and obtain the bin file

this is how i burn it

i use cdrwin
load track
the bin file
and burn it at 4x
i have a sony dvdrwdw-u14a burner

then i try to play it on my karaoke machine cdg player and the music works but i can't get any image, what can i do? or what am i doing wrong?

thank you

It may be that your CD-R drive is not supported properly by CDRWin. You may try using Nero to burn you CD+Gs -- you will find all the information you need here: http://www.karaokeplayground.co.uk/help/help.htm.

can't play disc

Post by desukane »

If I just simply can't play a karaoke disc, this to me, is not a valid program.
I don't understand why I must do 85 other things to make it work. I can use winamp and it at least plays. I am not getting the appropriate karaoke displays on or at either program. They're cda labeled files. The graphics must be embedded. Please help.

how to use cdrwin

Post by empireman »

you need latest cdrwin 3.9f

run cdrwin

got to devices and settings (top right box)

click on it

go to recorders it will tell you if your drive suppors cdg

back to main screen
click record track
then load tracks
tick the cd+g at the top left
add your tracks bin files only not cdg

then record disks

thats it

its not powerkaraoke bin files they work fine all the time if it plays in the powerkaraoke player its fine

you can't play disks in winamp or powerkaraoke

Post by empireman »

karaoke lyrics in cdg disks are in the disks subcodes
the programs need to read these subcodes they don't and thats why they dont show lyrics
and your drive needs to be able to read subcodes with out either of these you are going to have no luck
to play in winamp you first need to rip the disk to your computer to do this
download audiograbber its free and rips cdg disks
then with the mp3 and cdg files you get click on the mp3 and the graphics will show you must have the cdg plugin for winamp as well to do this
powerkaraoke is to create karaoke tracks not play disks if you want to play karaoke disks you need karaoke playing software not authoring software try www.tricerasoft.com for playing software its not free and its not cheap

LD Player is free, and will play CD+G disks with graphics directly on your PC. It has support for many more disk devices than the Tricerosoft products. Links and setup instructions here:

Thanks for the info. I do a completely different Midi type concept. I don't need nor want an authoring program. Just a player. Will check the miscellaneous info. Thanks again.

Works dandy, straight from the disc. Just need something for my wife to rehearse with, while my handwritten midis are in production. Gracious thanks for the help, just what I wanted. Thanks again.

You are trying to play DVD or VideoCD karaoke discs -- for this you need a DVD or VideoCD player (I think Windows Media Player should play VideoCD, not sure about DVD though).
