Editing database in external program

Hello. I've been using Pro for years now...why can't we edit the database in a different program? I can fix errors in my files (more and more of which are coming from legal download sites like buykaraokedownloads.com) and I can't import a whole folder full when different sites give different naming rules.
If the database in Siglos allowed for more complex sorting and multiple file editing, I could edit quickly...but I can already do that in excel. The way I see it, All we would have to do is have an import feature?
