Is this a bad disc or a manufacturing defect?

There is some garage when I play track 1. This doesn't happen on any other discs that I have.
I would think that track one is defective.
Do you think just this disc is bad or is this a manufacturing defect?
If anyone has Sing It Now - Pop Spring 2005 - SIP05SPR, can you please play track1 and tell me if you get the same garbage that I do?
I have included print screens.
I plan on playing my karaoke CDGs on a home theater screen so any garage is going to look huge.
Please let me know what you think. I've already contacted karaoke.com so I can get this disc exchanged.

This looks like disc error. Is it scratched?

No. It's a brand new disc. I emailed Karaoke.com but haven't heard back from them. You have 21 days to tell them of any problems. I hope to hear back from them soon becase I want a replacement disc.

Hello...

Not 100% sure but it looks like this track has been authored using Karaoke Builder Studio (looks like their default colours). I used this program before using Power and found that if the author doesnt press the RESET button in the program when editing synched lyrics then garbage does appear on some screens.

So i'd blame the author and not your disc.

Fat Panda.

I wish I knew someone else used powerkaraoke in my family or I wish I had a karaoke player at home.

At one of the places where I support PCs, they do have a Vocopro karaoke player. I think I'll bring the disc with me tomorrow morning and get someone to pull out the karaoke player. If it happens using the Vocopro machine then I'll have to assume that it's the disc. Oh yeah, if it happens with the Vocopro, I'll be sure to take a picture with a digital camera.

Hey fatpanda,

Let me ask you this.
If it's the author's fault, when I play this on a dedicated Vocopro player, do you think the same garbage on the screen will happen?

You know what's funny.
The disc is by "Sing It Now".
I recently found out that the owner of www.karaoke.com owns the domain name for www.singitnow.com
I just wish I could found out if it's this disc that I have or a defect on track1 on all the Sing It Now SIP05SPR CDGs.

I just tried the same disc with a Sony CRX140E and I get the same garbage on the same spot. I'll still take the disc to work tomorrow and try it using the Vocopro player.

Well, I just tried the following:

Windows xp sp2 - normal mode with only one program running. The spot is still there.
Safe mode - the spot is still there.

Hello...

Sorry for the late reply on this, been on holiday. I can see by your latest posts that you have found out that the garbage is still there on different players etc. So yeah, it looks definately like the authors fault and yes all the track 1's on the 'Sing It Now SIP05SPR CDG's' will be the same. There is nothing you can do apart from complain to the supplying company.

Hope this helps.
