A couple software problems

So i've had Siglos for over a year now. I stupidly only updated a couple times during that period and now i'm trying to decide if I renew if the problems i've been experiencing will be fixed.
The first issue i'm having is this: At seemingly random points in the evening (I know its not random i just don't know what triggers it) the show will progress to the next singer but it isn't the next person on the list even if I haven't hit the star on someone else. So if I star the person that is actually going to sing next it will change them to the upcoming singer and the song will play as usual. However on the next song it will do the same thing and try to jump back to the same person out of rotation so once again I have to star the next person on the list. I have to continue doing this until the rotation has gone all the way through and the person the program keeps trying to make sing next actually sings. If I grey them out it will just skip to the next person after them not actually the next person in the rotation. This also causes confusion with the people already singing as they think they are being skipped. I've had to start keeping a manual list just to keep things straight.
I also have a problem with regular crashing at the beginning of many songs. I know some of these are due to corrupt files and I guesss I understand that. However when many crash i can shut the program down and restart then that song will play fine.
These two problems have taken a professional quality out of my show and i need to make sure they won't continue to affect me.
If you believe a software update would fix this problem perhaps I could get one free update? I've only run updates a couple times the whole time i've had this software and I would be happy to pay for future updates if that resolves the problem.
